My favorite book when I was a kid was "The City of Ember". The main male characters name was Doon. I would love to name my little boy Doon, is it too out there?

I completely understand the magnetic force with an exceptional piece of literature tied to it! Granted Annabelle Lee is a pretty popular name besides the fact that it's from Edgar Allen Poe. I would suggest giving him a name that has the potential to have the nn Doon OR you could place it as his middle name.

I would also suggest using Doon as a nickname or middle, or consider spelling it Dune as that way seems more usable. I do love literary names!

It immediately makes my mind jump to 'Brigadoon'... I agree that spelling it as Dune or making it a nickname would be cute, though!
