Hello all,
I'm once again trying to piece together a list, and I find myself attracted to a lot of cute nicknames whose traditional full names I'm not enthused with. I've liked Nellie for quite some time, but Penelope is too common for me (and I'm just not a fan), and Eleanor is a bit of a stretch and a bit too proper for my taste.
I recently revisited on an old crush. Perenelle.
Being a nerd, I think the association with the legend of the alchemist Nicolas Flamel is sort of cool (Perenelle was his wife's name). And I just like how it sounds - it has that sort of classic/medieval feel but is uncommon.
What do you think of Perenelle, nn Nellie? Is it too out there? Any feedback would be great.

additional mini-questions:
- I love the nickname Cas on a boy, and am considering both Cassius (prn. CASS-ee-us) and Castor. In particular, I like the combo Cassius Gale. Opinions? Which do you prefer?
- What do you think of Lark, and which gender do you see it on? It's been floating around my middles lists forever. I know it's more frequently seen as feminine, but while I like it on both it's always felt masculine to me (and if you look at a lark bird, they're not particularly feminine/pretty-looking).
Thank you!
