My husband and I are mostly decided on two names... one for a boy and one for a girl. We love them now, but we know some people who have named their children something less-than-trendy-more-weird and lived to regret it later.

Honest opinions?

Boy: Atticus Clarke

Girl: Oswin Claire

(First and middle names obviously)

Thanks!

My opinion is that if you really like an odd name, use it as a middle. That way, you can still use it, but they won't get teased or anything. Well, they are less likely to at least.

I think Oswin sounds kind of masculine. I think because it sounds like Oswald. If you LOVE it, call her Claire Oswin. I think that could be pretty.
Suggestions you may like: (they are a little more common)
Arden
Linden
Laken
Auden
Lakely
Blakely

Atticus isn't super weird, I think it isn't bad. It isn't my style, but it isn't that uncommon. I don't mind it. Clarke is nice as a first name, but as a middle name it makes it sound like a first name - surname combo.

Atticus Clarke is nice, and really quite handsome. Agreeing with Addy, Oswin is more masculine. Either use it as a middle or see if you and your husband like any that are similar.

I know a little boy (5 yrs old) named Atticus and he is completely fine with his name! He often goes by Atti and he fits right in. If the name feels right, go with it but if you feel unsettled, keep looking. Also, I completely agree with Addy. Claire Oswin is a nice alternative!

I like Atticus, it reminds me of To Kill A Mockingbird. I don't like Oswin for a girl though, it does seem a bit strange Claire Oswin wouldn't be so bad. Other suggestions

Atticus Clarke is a cool name, but Oswin? That sounds like a boy.
