[firebird of winter]

Hi all!

I recently had a dream where i had a daughter and i called her Linley. now i cant seem to get the name out of my head.

any ideas or thoughts as to what it possibly means??

On another note, anyone know what Linley means?

It has several meanings (depending on origin and usage), in welsh it is derived from the word for lake. In Old English, Lin is derived from the name Lincoln, and Ley/Lee dictates a wetland...so Lincoln's Wetland or Lincoln's Island. The germanic name has several possible meanings/origins.

I think it is a nice sounding name, although I could see it being confused for Lindsey or Henley.

Linley is kinda nice, though I could see it being easily being misheard as Lindsey as well I do like a few Lyn names, like Linnea or Lynette

Katie already posted its meaning, so I wont bother with that And meaning of the dream? I'm not sure! I've had this happen to me before, dreaming about having a kid with a random name (or even specific sometimes). I dreamed a lot of having two boys named Liam and Hunter, but I don't think I'd do that in the end, they were favorites of mine at the time so it makes sense to me. On random names, I normally love them for a little while then get over them fickle I am!
