I've been loving this name lately--and not as a nickname for Abigail (not a fan of Abigail at all) But I think Abby is cute, yet classic and can be good for a little girl or a grown woman.

So I was just wondering what you guys thought and which spelling would look best for it as a stand alone name:

Abby
Abbie
Abbey

For a full name I like Abbie or Abbey.

Abbey kinda reminds me of the Beatles though. Not a bad thing just stay away from any middle name that could sound like Rhode :)

I really like Abigail and Abby. For a stand alone name, I think Abbey works best.

I like both Abby and Abbey.
Abbie is cute and works with all of those nickname first names like Millie, Hattie, Evie, Addie, Jessie, Callie, Brie, Josie, Ellie, Lizzie, Andie and Lanie.
OR like Lily for Lillian, Kate for Katherine, Lucy for Lucille, Meg for Margaret or Penny for Penelope which are all stand alone names!

I actually know a couple of Abby's that aren't Abigail's. :)

I like Abby. I know an Abby, who's just Abby. It suits her.

I like Abby, though coincidentally I don't like Abigail.

My favourite spelling out of those would be Abby or Abbie, but I don't really like Abbey, not sure why.

Hannah

(Although I dislike Abigail, I do still find Abby just doesn't sit with me as a stand alone name, though there are loads of nicknames that are stand alone names nowadays. I do like Abrielle however, with the nickname Abby. Just thought I'd add my twopence, hope you don't mind.)
