Does "Christopher Lawrence" sound more like a first name and a middle name, or a given name and a surname?

Christopher Lawrence sounds like a first name followed by a surname to me. Some middle names that I like are

I think Lawrence works well for either. It really just depends on how you use it. If it is a middle name, then he wouldn't be called "Christopher Lawrence" very often, and probably only by family members. If it is a last name, again he wouldn't be called by his full name very often unless he was in a professional/school setting.

I think Lawrence sounds like a surname in this context. BUT... my brother has a middle name that actually is a surname. My mom's maiden name and I think it works well as a mn.
