My husband and I both love the name Baylen. We had it picked out for our theorectical daughter before we had kids. Now we have a daughter but he named her Maci. We were going to use Baylen but I have a baby cousin named Bayleigh and my husband brothers niece is named Kaylen (he his half brother). Well I'm considering it again if we ever have another daughter. Do you think Baylen is too close to Bayleigh and Kaylen? Thanks yall

It sounds like Bailing, like you're bailing someone out of jail. I also agree that it sounds like you were trying to honor Bayleigh and Kaylen by mashing the names together.

If I had heard of a Baylen, I would have assumed them to be a boy. :(

I hope this doesn't come off as rude, it wasn't meant that way at all! The name does have nice qualities.

Maybe consider the alternative Baylor? It would still sound like you're honoring Bayleigh, and a bit masculine, but I feel like it is a bit better than Baylen.

I also hear Bailing, as in Bailing hay. I would consider it a bit too similar to Bayleigh and Kaylen for my taste. But ultimately, if it is the name you and your husband both love, then I wouldn't let those issues dissuade you.

It might be one of those things where it looks prettier than it sounds. Those of us who frequent a name site sometimes get more caught up in the look of it. Also, for me, when I hear an
unusual name my mind immediately starts working out the spelling but I don't think most people do.

I think if you really like Baylen you should put it in the middle. It has the potential there to create some nice flow due to it's softness. :)

I kinda like Baylen, its nice. I kinda do see the association with Bailing in spelling, though when I say them out loud I say them distinctly different. May be my accent though :)

It is a little close to the two.. if you aren't super close to the cousins, I'd not worry. Like if you only see them occasionally I'd not worry, but if you live nearby and see each other very often it may be too close :(

Baylen is not my style, but it's kind of cute. I think it's too close to Bayleigh to be a first name, but it would work in the middle name spot. I would give her a nice feminine first name.

Hannah Baylen
Lydia Baylen
Clara Baylen
Melody Baylen
Camilla Baylen
Sydney Baylen
Sarah Baylen
Gemma Baylen
Hailey Baylen
Mckenna Baylen
Abigail Baylen

Baylen is my ex's name so I'm not really fond of it.

I do think it's too close, but that's just my opinion. It's too close to Bayleigh if anything.
