I've been watching United States of Tara for the past couple of days. I am really starting to like the name Charmaine (shahr-MAYN). It either is Greek for "delightful" or English for "charm". A couple of nicknames are Charmy or Char (Char). I can't seem to come up with a decent middle name for it. Any suggestions?

Mmm, I dislike it quite a lot.
Where I'm from, it's considered a "white trash" kind of name. Though it seems to be quite popular in the Philippines for some reason?

But here's a few I've heard:

Charmaine Isabel
Charmaine Ana Marie
Charmaine Ruth
Charmaine Olivia
Charmaine Sarah-Elizabeth
Charmaine Diana
Charmaine Gail
Charmaine Ruby
Charmaine Tess
Charmaine Angelica
Charmaine Nikki
Charmaine Hazel
Charmaine Melody
Charmaine Grace
Charmaine Miranda
Charmaine Susana
Charmaine Louisa May
Charmaine Jane
Charmaine Anne
Charmaine Taylor
Charmaine Sophie
Charmaine Joy
Charmaine Melanie
Charmaine Ellen
Charmaine Jasmine

Eeek.. I REALLY dislike most of these.

Charmaine is a very harsh sounding name. It just doesn't have that pretty feel to me. I'm not a fan. Plus the nn Char makes me think of burnt meat.

However, I do like the name Charlamagne. Somehow the La added in there makes it softer and more wearable. I also like the names Cheyanne, Charlene and of course Charlotte nn Charlie.

I have to agree with you two, tbh! <3 I dislike Charmaine, personally. I've never met one though, so I have no associations. Just dislike how it sounds <3 As Katie and Yas said though, Cheyenne, Charlene, Charlotte // Charlie, Charlize, and Carlotta are all lovely similar names!!! LOVE Charlotte, and Charlize is so unique and elegant and pretty sounding!

I used to LOVE the name Charmaine when I was a teenager. A little girl next door was named Charmaine, and I just thought it was the prettiest name! It fell off my list of favorites quite a while back, but I still have a fondness for it. And I liked the fact that it was used in US of Tara. (wonderful show! so sad that it was cancelled)
Middles I like with Charmaine:
Charmaine Alexandra
Charmaine Arielle
Charmaine Ariella
Charmaine Arabella
Charmaine Juliette
Charmaine Juliana
Charmaine Victoria
Charmaine Lysandra
Charmaine Leandra
Charmaine Dominique
Charmaine Angelique
Charmaine Amelia
Charmaine Eliana
Charmaine Felicia
Charmaine Gabrielle
Charmaine Gabriella
Charmaine Luisa
Charmaine Miranda
Charmaine Lucinda
Charmaine Calista
Charmaine Genevieve (with French pronunciation)
Charmaine Isabella
Charmaine Katerina
Charmaine Isadora
Charmaine Theodora
