I've been reading through Nook of Names' blog (nookofnames.com) and I came across some names that are a bit unusual but ones that like.

Edis
(a variation of Edith)

Edney / Edoney
(from the Old Norse name Idhunna ‘love-work’, the name of the Goddess of Youth)

Penley
(from Penleigh, Wiltshire. Old English: penn “fold,” “enclosure” + lēah “wood,” “woodland clearing,” “glade,” “pasture” and “meadow”)

Pimley
(from Pimley, Shropshire. Probably Celtic pimp “five” + lēah “wood,” “woodland clearing,” “glade,” “pasture” and “meadow”)
I'm pretty sure I like this name because it reminds me of Pemberly from Pride & Prejudice. ;)

Rooney
(of Irish/Gaelic origin, meaning "red-haired")
I didn't find this on Nook of Names' blog but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I can't decide whether I like it more for a boy or girl.

Alban
(meaning “solstice” and “equinox”)
I think of this as a more usable compramise between the adorable chipmunk, Alvin & the wise wizard, Albus

Harrow
(from Old English hearg ‘pagan temple or shrine’)

Thayer
(From a surname meaning "tailor", ultimately from Old French taillere)
This one isn't from Nook of Names' blog either, its from a movie I saw recently.

I'm not sure that I'd ever use any of them, but they do make some interesting names :)

Ohh! I like Edis, thats pretty nice <3 Not sure I like Edney or Edoney as much though.

I kinda like Penley though!

I think Rooney would be more of a boys name, personally ;)

I agree on Alban as well, a mix of Alvin [the chipmunk :P ] and Albus [the wise wizard!] Its kinda nice, really

I like Harrow a lot, but its very last-namey to me :)

I've met someone named Thayer, actually. It was their last name, but I like it! Though, as a last name hehe!

Interesting set of names, Katie! :) It's always fun to read up on some new names! <3
