Well I've known three Harper's. One my age (early 20's and a man) the other two were little girls under the age of 6. It's popular, but not as popular as Brittney, Kayla, Nicole or Ashley was in the late 80's - early 90's. It's ranked #54 on the 2011 names list. Here it's info on Nameberry, Harper. I hear the combo Harper Grace alot though, but it's very pretty! I think it'll be ok

According to the Social Security Association...
In 2011, there were 4,636 girls born named Harper, ranked #54
In 2010, there were 2,624 girls born named Harper, ranked #118
In 2009, there were 1,900, ranked #172
& In 2008, there were 1,125, ranked #296
As you can see Harper has been steadily growing in popularity over the past few years. In terms of % of overall births, in 2011 Harper made up 0.24% of all girls born. Which means 1 in 400 girls were named Harper last year. If you think about the average class size (for a entire grade in school) depending on where you live and how big the school is. A usual class size would be about 400-600 students with only half of those being female (unless she went to an all girls school). So I think it would be safe to say that she may be the only one in her grade in school named Harper.
Hope this helps. I think Harper is a great name. GL!

I like the name Harper. I considered it for both my girls at one point. Victoria Beckham has Harper Seven and one of Neil Patrick Harris's twins is Harper Grace.
