I've recently been introduced to a young boy named Taage, pronounced tah-gee, like tah-tah, and gee with a hard g.

I've never heard this name previously but I think it's pretty interesting. Do any of you know the origins, I've Googled it and nothing comes up. What are your thoughts?

I'm sure it sounds good in person, but honestly I think it is very hard to pronounce from looking at it. Even from your description I can't really tell how to say it. Maybe find another way to spell it?

If I had to guess the origin, I think Taage has a South American/African feel about it. Personally, I'm not a fan, but that's probably because I lean towards more classic names.

I've just managed to trace it back to Finland. I can see how it seems kind of African though.
