Lately, I've been thinking about unisex names. I know that it's definitely not everyone's taste, but I really like the idea. I'm looking for some suggestions on boys names that could be used on girls! <3

Murphy

Really love Murphy for a girl. I've always considered it, but never really thought about it a lot. I would think it would need a VERY feminine middle name. The only combo I've thought of is Murphy Annelise.

Ryder

Only combos I could really think of are Ryder Evelyn and Ryder Emilia.

ANY suggestions on unisex names or girly, feminine middles would help me out a lot!! <3

I'm not a fan of either of those names as girls names, to me they're just too masculine. To be honest, I'm not usually a fan of boys names on girls in the first place, there are so many options for a girl that I don't feel the need to look to boys names.

There is one exception however (isn't there always?), and that's Flynn. I adore the name Flynn on a girl, I find it so spunky and cute, and I can just imagine a woman with the name, as well as a baby.

I really don't like boys names on girls. Trendy names like Hunter, Ryder, and Caiden will be instantly identified as child born between 2007-2017.
Garret, Spencer, Jonah and Gavin are all well established boys names so I see no reason to give them to girls. Names like these make me sad because people have this thing where if one girl has a traditionally male name all of a sudden that name becomes taboo for little boys. To me, that's saying there's something inherently "less" than being a boy. 1) because you can't give your daughter a girls name ("what will people think???") and 2) that if something is "tainted" by a girl then it is forever off limits to men.
It irks me.
That being said, truly unisex names (such as River, Dune, etc) I'm fine with.

For the pp who said Noa is a boy's name its a girls name with its own separate etymology that happens to sound like the boy's name Noah (similar to Erin/Aaron). I don't know if meaning is important to you (it is to me) but Noa and Noah have separate meanings.

I like a lot of traditionally male names on girls. Elliot and Quincy are my favorites, but I also like Avery, Jude, Evan, Kyle, Sawyer, Ellis, Chandler, Spencer, Tate, and Micah.

I actually know a girl that goes by Murphy! It's unrelated to her real name, but it suits her fine! Sometimes people assume she'll be a guy, but then she informs them otherwise and it's fine. I liked the name Murphy a lot a couple of years ago, but now the sound of it just isn't my favorite anymore. I don't like Ryder for basically the same reasons stated above, that it will soon be very dated to this point in time. It's just not my style anyhow. Also not a fan of Preston, on a boy or a girl, but I think Colby is cute for either! (Not a fan of the spelling Colbi)

I can't see either Murphy or Ryder on a girl, sorry.
I'm picky on unisex names :/ I really don't like very boyish names used on girls though, there's so many great girls names out there to use.. Kinda ruins it for moms who love these boys names on their boys IMO.

I agree that using too many very boys names will only make people wonder when they just see a name if the person is a girl or boy.

I personally have always loved Ryder for a girl, though :)

Ryder Evelyn
Ryder Elizabeth
Ryder Andrea
Ryder Amanda
Ryder Alina
Ryder Madeline

I adore Spencer, Elliott and Reece on girls just as much as I do for boys. Which is odd for me because I generally can not stand unisex names. I actually go to church with a girl named Chandler (and that's growing on me for a girl) and I also adore the name Noa but I know it won't pass the husband since it sounds like Noah. :/ When my coffee kicks in, I'll come back with some suggestions for Ryder and Murphy :)
