Jessica Luna McDonald [15] is the younger sister of Joseph, Marie, and three more older brothers, and one more older sister. As the youngest in such a large family, Jessica often felt like she was forgotten. She has recently become obsessed with being her own person and doing things that are different from the rest of the family. She's seen how Joseph and Marie have done things that their family disapproves of, and she secretly admires them, though she'd never admit it. She is really freaked out by Marie's relationship with two guys at once, though. Jessica is thinking about moving out to Hollywood after high school to be an actress.

Alicia Willow [McDonald] Pumphrey {34} is the second oldest of the McDonald children. She doesn't pay much attention to her younger siblings, and she blames her parents for Marie's relationship choices, but she is proud of Marie for standing against their parents wishes. When Alicia was six, their father started abusing her. Their neighbor found out and said that if he hurt any of the kids again, he would call social services. Her dad stopped, but since then she has been upset with her parents. On her 18th birthday, in the middle of her senior year of high school, she ran away from home and didn't look back. Two years after that, she started periodically emailing her siblings, just to see how they were doing. She hasn't contacted her parents since she left home. Now, she is happily married and has three kids of her own.

Rowan Elliot George [14] is the oldest son, child, of Alicia. After his mother ran away from home, she got accidentally pregnant with his father. Once his father found out he abandoned her. Rowan is very fond of his step-father, Mr. Pumphrey, and is a bit interested in meeting his father even though his mother tells him that his father will never love him, that he had left. Rowan has two younger siblings, and loves to write. He writes in his journal. His best friend is a girl, whom he has started to develop feeling for but is afraid of rejection and ruining the friendship.

Sienna Magdalene Pumphrey {5} is the daughter of Alicia, little half-sister of Rowan. She is the biological daughter of Alicia's husband. Sienna's "daddy" loves her dearly. She is a very outdoorsy girl, she doesn't even like being inside. She's always begging her parents and older brother to camp out with her in the backyard, and she hardly ever puts on a pair of shoes.

Aspen Elena Pumphrey (4) is the younger sister of Sienna,and younger half-sister of Rowan. She loves her parents and siblings very much, but she is a very shy little girl. She is quiet even around her family, and hardly edver talks around anyone else. But she loves to make up stories, which she tells to her stuffed animals. She will probably be an author one day.

Charlotte Anastasia Dexter "Charlie" (15) is the cousin of Rowan, Sienna and Aspen. She is a sophomore in high school, who rebels at basically everything there is. All the adults never seem to understand her, she cuts herself and is extremely depressed. She isn't sure why, but whatever it is, it's keeping her from exceeding in life.

Aria Jessamine Beckett [16] is the girlfriend of Charlie's hot, popular older brother. Aria teases Charlie for being single, ugly, and weird that no one cares about her. She is very crude but is as sweet as a pumpkin around her boyfriend. She doesn't realize her actions are leading to charlie's depression. She makes Charlie's life miserable and wants charlottes brother all to herself.

Nicholas Alexander "Nick" Dexter (17) is Aria's boyfriend, and Charlotte's older brother. He is really popular at school. He is a star player on the basketball team and is also part of the show choir. He's very protective of Charlie, and gets very angry when kids tease her, but he has no idea that his girlfriend Aria torments her like she does. He thinks Aria is really sweet and kind, since that's always how she acts around him. He hates seeing his sister's depression, but has no idea how to help her. His best friend is a girl his age, who sees right through Aria, but doesn't know how to tell Nick, because she thinks she'll just sound like she's jealous of Aria, since she actually has a crush on him.

Avery Benson Dexter {16} is the cousin of Nick and Charlie. He was raised on a ranch, and his family recently moved to the suburbs where he now goes to the same high school as Nick and Charlie do. He's a very sweet, kind guy. He plays on the baseball team and his favorite thing to do is cruise around in his light blue '67 Mustang GT. He doesn't currently have a girlfriend, but he really likes a girl and is working up the nerve to ask her out. Avery is the oldest child in his family.

Susanna Kay Dexter "Susie" [10] is one of Avery's younger siblings. Susie didn't want to leave the ranch and was very upset when her parents moved the family to the suburbs. Like her brother, Susie is sweet and kind, but she's so shy that she's having some trouble making friends at her new school. Her favorite thing to do is to play outside with her cat, Annie.

Addison Jack (sometimes called "Ajax") Dexter {7} is the younger brother of Avery and Susie. He's a very easy-to-please kid, he loved living on the ranch but he likes the city, too. He enjoys school, and he makes friends easily despite being on the quieter side. Addison likes to climb trees and read books, and often loves coloring.

Marlee Gwen Chaucer [7] was the next door neighbor of the Dexter family before they moved to the city. She got along well with Ajax, and was the one who has come up with the nickname Ajax. They used play all the time and she misses having someone around her age. She is the youngest in her family, by a couple years.

Logan Matthew Chaucer {18} is Marlee's oldest sibling. He's very, very country-- he loves just strumming his guitar and singing, though he doesn't want to be famous, and he loves working on the farm. He was good friends with Avery Dexter before the Dexter's moved to the city.

Jenna Quinn Chaucer (9) is the second youngest of Logan's siblings, older sister of Marley. She was good friends with Susie, before Susie moved. Jenna loves all the animals on the farm. She gets very upset when her parents kill chickens or pigs. She's a vegetarian. She's always taking in stray animals. She has a female kitten named Ashpool,(named in the style of her favorite book series, warriors), that she loves very much. When she grows up she'd like to start her own animal shelter.

Lucy Faith Claymore {6} is the cousin of Logan, Jenna, and Marlee. Her family is very country like her cousins' family. Her dad owns the local John Deere dealership, so she spends quite a bit of time climbing around the tractors "helping" her dad. Her family owns several animals- goats, pigs, and a horse, and she helps feed them.

Jonan Revere Claymore [8] is the older brother of Lucy, and cousin of the Chaucer family.He is the oldest of the family and his father spends a lot of time with him for being the only boy in the family. Jonan loves going over to his uncle's house, and he plays with Marlee all the time. Those two are inseparable. He just learned to mount and ride his own horse over the summer.

Celia Grace Claymore (5) is the little sister of Jonan and Lucy, cousin of the Chaucer family. Celia is a sassy little girl and is wrapped around her mother's finger. She loves chasing "Luie" around the tractor dealership and watching "Joey" ride his horse. Celia is very close with her mother for some reason. She is never separated from her and rides horses in her mother's lap.

Gabrielle Emily [Limbaugh] Claymore {32} is the mother of Jonan, Lucy, and Celia. She has a really special bond with Celia, but she is worried that Celia won't become her own person if she sticks to closely to her side, so she pushes her to make other friends. Gabrielle is a stay-at-home mom, she quit her job as a second grade teacher when Jonan was born. She is thankful that her husband's tractor business is so successful that she doesn't need to work.

 

Francesca Serenity Claymore {5 mo} is the youngest of the Claymore children. She's a calm baby who's nearly always asleep. Her family often calls her by Serene after her middle name because she really is so serene.

Olivia Grace Limbaugh (28) is Gabrielle's little sister, the aunt of Jonan, Lucy, Celia, and Serene, and the sister-in-law of Mr. Claymore. Celia's middle name was in honor of Olivia. Olivia lives in Atlanta and loves the city life. She lives in a very nice apartment with her boyfriend and their four-year-old son. Olivia is a writer and has published many praised comedic works about motherhood and life in general. Olivia once had a stalker, when she was first dating her boyfriend. Because of this and the fact that her boyfriend is a detective, Olivia is often overly cautious, especially when it comes to her son. She thinks it's very dangerous for Lucy and Celia to run around among all those tractors and strange country men.

Presley Jamison Barnes [4] is the son of Olivia and her boyfriend. He is cousin to Lucy, Celia, Jonan and Serene. He is very much the city boy and loves both his parents, but a bit of mamas boy. He lets his mom dress him up and likes it when she plays with his hair. He likes watching cartoons on saturday morning and pretending the castles in the apartment are forts. He has a wild imagination which helps him never get bored.
