I've always had a thing for unisex names since I was younger. Nowadays, because of my own name, I really like pretty, feminine names that can be shortened down to more "masculine" names. I think if I ever had a daughter I would love to give her a name like that. I have a whole list of them, though I tend to prefer the more unusual ones, I suppose. Some of my favorites, I think are Gabrielle aka Gabe and Isabeau (or its various spellings) aka "Bo"...that one mainly because of Lost Girl x)

Though I do still like some names that are mostly considered boy names all on their own for girls. Elliot because if Scrubs and Evan because of Evan Rachel Wood. Ryan I used to love but now I'm sort of on and off with how I feel about it. I also really like Landon, for some reason. I have a feeling I probably knew a girl Landon from something, a book or a show or even real life, but I can't pinpoint what it was lol!

I think what speaks to me the most is when people use girl first names paired with a more boy-ish middle name. James and Blake are my favorite examples of this. I love James and Blake as girl middle names! I've used them for characters in stories before. One was Nora James Guillory and another named Audrey Blake Porter.

Of course, the biggest thing is that it takes a certain kind of girl to pull off a boy name :( I mean most of the time, unless you have the right attitude or look you'll just look stupid having that sort of name. I, being a Danni, can attest to this! Doesn't stop me from dreaming, though!

So I was curious about everyone else! Names you like that fit into the three groups: girl name with a boy nickname, boy first name, boy middle name. I might have to hunt down some of the lists I have written down and post them when I find them ^_^ Also would love to know y'all's opinions about all of this! :)

Anyway, just something on my mind from the past few days! Had to get it out lol!

I dont necessarily like the idea of unisex names.. But I've caught myself liking quite a few.

Feminine names with boying nick names:
Alexandria nn Alex/Andie
Charlotte nn Charlie
Aurora nn Rory
Theodora nn Teddy
Victoria nn Tory/Vic
Veronica nn Ronnie
Francesca nn Frankie
Camilla nn Cam

I dont honestly love all of the above, but they are nice options. I know Mike said if we had a girl Alexandria would be a top choice for him, nn Andie <3

Unisex names I like...
Avery (girl)
Rhys (boy)
Riley (boy)
Ryan (girl or boy)
Taylor (girl or boy)
Harper (girl)
Emery (boy)
Cameron / Camryn (boy / girl)

Idk. I doubt I'd use a masculine name on a girl, in the same way I wouldnt ever dream of using a feminine name on a boy. But thats just me :)
