My hubby is Hispanic, I'm Russian/Lebanese/English, and we're expecting boy/girl twins in 14 weeks . We want them to have Hispanic names, as they'll have my surname, which is Russian. Obviously I want the names to complement each other, and I would prefer names that have English cognates as we live in the UK.

For the boy, all the names we've narrowed it down to are special to us. I'm not a fan of Marcos at all, but hubby is insisting it's the best one as it's a family name. I say leave it for the future if we end up trying for another... For the girl, I'm not sure, and the names are just random choices. To be honest I'd always dreamed of having little boys, and girls' names hadn't occurred to me. There are no women's names in my family I'd want to choose for a middle name, and I'm iffy about those he's suggested from his family (Lourdes and Beatriz). Neither of us are a fan of trendy names or those with odd spellings.

Boy

First names: Óscar, Ernesto (Neto), Marcos

Middle name: Ilius (we're set on this one)

Girl

First names: Eufemia (Effy), Inés, Francesca (Frankie) (this last one is not Hispanic per se, but I do like how it has an androgynous nickname)

Middle name: ...?

Suggestions? Thoughts?

I like Oscar for a boy. You can't go wrong with any of the girl names, though I especially like Eufemia.

Eufemia Cloe

Eufemia Paz

Eufemia Raquel

Eufemia Libertad

Eufemia Trinidad

Eufemia Dolores

Eufemia Guadalupe

Eufemia Leonor

Eufemia Marisol

Eufemia Carmen
