I love the name Jesselyn Heather or Jesselyn Emmaleigh but everyone tells me to call her Jessalyn. Should I just go with the JessAlyn or should I do what I like and go with the JessElyn?

Sorry Laura, but I don't like any of the names or combinations. I think, no matter how you spell it, people will pronounce the name as Jess-uh-lyn.

what about using Jesse as her fn and Lynn as a mn then you could call her by first and middle name Jesse-Lynn

Well, seeing as how my name is Jessica Lynn, but have gone by Jessie my whole life, I think my opinion is extra important! :)

I LOVE Jessalyn & Jessimae =-) I like that it's different from the overused and common Jessica.

Jesselyn is ok, but since Jesse is the masculine spelling, it's not my favorite. It always bugs me when people spell my name Jesse because I am a girl. Not only that, but it just doesn't flow as well as Jessalyn. Jesselyn doesn't sound like one name.

Bottom line, if you like it, GREAT! Just remember to think of your child. In this case, it won't be painful on the child, but it may cause some minor confusion spelling it

Which ever of the sugguestions you choose... They all work! I do know a girl with the first name Jesse... but just one. And i agree that if you spell it Jesselyn then people might frequently pronounce it as Jes-uh-lyn. If you won't mind your daughter having to correct a few people... Then go for it! Or you could even spell it Jessilyn if you think that might help.

Good luck!

Well my name is Jessica so of course I would recommend that name first and also because it is barely ever used anymore but I also like Jaslynn Emmaleigh. I think that Jesselyn sounds a little wierd and Jessalyn is a little better but Jaslynn is an actual name and its lovely :(

I like Jessalyn Michelle
and Jessalyn Mikai
also
Jessalyn Noelle

I agree that Jesselyn would be pronounced the same or very similar but for some reason it looks better with the A to me.

Good Luck

I immediately thought to say Jessalyn for your spelling of Jesselyn, but that's because I like the name Jessalyn - However, looking at how you want to spell it, I think people will think it's just a clever way of spelling Jessy/Jessie-Lynn...

I LOVE Jessalyn Heather, btw...

I think it should be spelt Jessalyn for Jes-uh-lyn, and Jesselyn for jes-ellen...Thats how I would pronounce them if I saw them.

I too am a Jessica Lynn. I never let anybody call me Jessie, just personal preference, I always went by Jess.
Anyways,
I'm personally not a huge fan of Jesselyn, but like Jessalyn and LOVE Jesslyn (w/out any E or A in the middle).
As others said I immediately thought in my head Jessalyn not Jesselyn, so corrections would probably be abundant.
Anyways, go with what you love.

I have a ConnEr and have to correct the spelling a lot (connOr is the common way), but whatever, I've grown accustomed to just spelling it instead of just saying it.

It all depends on the pronunciation, as pronunciation is key. If it is jess-uh-lynn, then I say go for it! If it is jess-ee-lynn, then do Jessie-Lynn instead. It's still cute! If it's jess-lynn, forget the 2nd "e" all together and make it Jesslyn or Jess-Lynn.

Hope I helped,
Linnea

Jessalynne Emily or Jessalynne Emma. Whatever you do, keep the original spelling in this case.
