The focus is usually on the names we love, lets talk about the names we really don't love. What is on your 'never in a million years' list. What names make you cringe? Are there any particular naming trends etc. that you will never be on board with?

*Please remember that names are subjective to the individual and the opinions expressed here are not meant as a personal attack on anyone. If you are particularly sensitive do not read on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Girls: Addison, Alexis (though I love Alexandra), Amanda, Amber, Aspen, Bertha, Beulah, Brandy, Brooklyn, Charity, Dakota, Destiny, Gertrude, Kayla, Kendall, Kennedy, Kimber, Kimberly, Lexus, Mercedes, Madison, Michelle, Mikayla + friends eg. Mikinley/Makenna etc., Nevaeh, Shelby, Sheila, Shirley (Pretty much all SH names), Trinity

Anything outmoded eg: Deborah, Barbara, Cheryl etc.
Most everything with 'ky': Kylie, Makylie, Kyla etc.
Most everything with a 'mc' or a 'mac': Mackenzie, MaKinley etc.
Car brands: Mercedes, Lexus, Porsche etc.
Anything especially trendy in the 80's: Amber, Tiffany (I hate my own name)
Anything especially trendy in the 70's: Michelle, Kimberly etc.
Making up names by smooshing two names together: Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Raelyn etc.
Most word names: Destiny, Charity, Precious etc.
Masculine names on girls: Logan, Chase, Dylan etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Boys: Adolph (who doesn't hate this one?), Aidan, Camden, Chad, Cooper, Cody/Colby/Corey, Colton/Colter/Colt, Connor, Dakota, Doug/Douglas, Bryce, Earl, Elmer, Fletcher, Gavin, Gaylord, Gunner, Guy, Horace, Hunter, Kyler, Lloyd, Logan, Lucas, Remington, Russel, Ryder, Scott, Shane, Tanner, Tucker, Travis, Trevor, Walker, Wiley, Wyane (+Dwayne), Wyatt

Anything 'violent'/gun related: Hunter, Remington etc.
Outmoded names: Russel, Douglas etc.
Names I associate with the 70's/80's: Shane, Scott, Chad etc.
Most 'action' names: Walker, Ryder etc.
Anything with a very 'western' feel: Travis, Colton, Logan etc.

-------------------------------------------------
Things that bother me about names for both sexes:
- Bad flow eg. Addison Stevenson etc.
- Extreme clash of styles eg. Logan Dimitri etc

Girls-
Most 80/90's Names:
Bethany (Totally dispise this name for no real reason. I just really dislike the sound and look of it. )
Stephanie, Rebecca, Tiffany, Amber
Most names ending in -lyn or -ly/-ley:
Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Jaelyn, Kinley, Ashley, You get the idea...
Names that have 20 million spellings:
Makynli/McKinley/Makinley
Karlee/Carly/Carlie/Karly
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Names with "y"s added instead of "i"s:
Madysyn, Kaylyn, Camryn, Kathryn, etc.

Unisex Names-
I hate almost every unisex names. Especially boys names on girls...Logan, Ryan, Noah, Tyler, Devon. There are so many beauitful girls names to chose from, why do you want your daughters to have manly names? I just don't get it.

Boys-
I'm more open when it comes to boy's names.
A few that I just really don't like:
Grayson/Grayer, Eugene, Harry (although I love Harry Potter :)), Robert, Mark, Travis, Ryder...I can't think of any others that I don't like. I'll add more if I can think of them...

For girls, I totally hate Ari/Ara names, such as Arielle, Arabella, Ariana... And I really don't care for unisex names on girls, though I have a few exceptions....

For boys, I really don't like Aidan names (though Caden is more bearable than Aidan), Gavin, and Preston, and Dylan

I don't like 'older' names like Mildred, Winifred, Betty, Betsy, etc.

I despise the name candy/Kandy because of james' ex. The same goes with Daniel.

Names with unnecessary -y's in them.

Extremely popular names like Ashley, Amanda, Jessica etc. Though I do like lily.

i dont like 'over used names' like cason, adien, caden, jackson
for girsl its like sophie, ava, maddison or mckenzie.
it just makes me so mad when parents name their children some boring/over used name. its like they put no thought into their childs individuality. sorry im very passionate about names. lol

I generally dont like any "Kre@tyvv" spellings on any gender at all. Seeing such beautiful names twisted to their death burdens my soal XP
(ie Alyzibyth, Tymathee, Heydanne, Carrsyn)

Ultra rhymey names generally bother me (as combo's together or as sibsets)
(ie Tyler Skyler, Ryan Brian, Daniel and Danielle)

Super nick-name-like names as full names are upsetting
(ie Vy instead of Violet, Allie instead of Allison)

Corny names or names with wrong interpretations
(ie Harvest Moon, Ophelia Hiene)

Super old names
(ie Eugene, Winifred)

Etc. Yeah, and I greatly dislike seeing words like Unique on a child, cause their obviously not so Unique if you need a name like that to "make them special"... No offense!

But, yeah. Those are our "pet peeves" of naming XP
