I'm thinking of adding some literary names to my list, seeing as I am a literature major, and I could use some fresh perspectives. What are your favorite literary names, meaning names honoring your favorite authors or fictional characters? The more responses the merrier :) Thanks!

Fun-- Literary major! ;)

Well, my favorite literary character of all time is Laurie in Little Women <3
(I basically fell madly in love with him while reading the book!)
Anyway, Teddy is Jo March's affectionate name for him. She later named her son after him. I have recently been in love with the name Theodore, partly because it would honor my fave lit. character :)

Not sure I could narrow down a fave author, but I have loosely honored Louisa May Alcott, Max Lucado, and Laura Ingalls Wilder (and characters from her books) in some different combos.

I might think of something else later, but enjoy reading!

I like Phoebe and Holden from Catcher in the Rye a lot <3 Love love love. I have a love / hate relationship with Milo since reading Catch 22. I love it, but... idk. He's quite the character. Can't lie that Daisy gained more appeal to me since reading The Great Gatsby forever ago, though lately I prefer Maisie to Daisy. And oddly, I liked Maggie / Margaret more after reading Maggie, Girl of the Streets. Though that was a sad story. I do like Charlotte and Bronte a lot, obvious source there lol.

I like a lot of literary names in general. Nameberry has some great lists with a bunch of them, though I've not read all the books to each name. :)

Oooooh, I love this topic! I have a slight obsession with books (to the point that when I was a child, my mom only allowed me to pick books from the library because I read too fast and spent too much money at Barnes & Noble. Aye.) Anyway, here goes:

Atticus - To Kill a Mockingbird

Augustus - The Fault in Our Stars (Fav book of the last 5 years)

Isaac - The Fault in Our Stars

Austen - Jane

Fitzgerald - Gatsby author

Sawyer - Tom Sawyer

Finn - Adventures of Huck Finn

Jonas - The Giver

Forrester - A Separate Peace

Holden - Catcher in the Rye

Milo - Catch-22
Gray - The Picture of Dorian Gray (though I'll admit the namesake isn't the greatest person...)
Oscar - Wilde (author)
Bennett - Pride & Prejudice

Hazel - The Fault in Our Stars

Harper - Lee (author; though as I'm sure you already know, her given name was Nellie Harper Lee)

Millie  -  Fahrenheit 451

Daisy - Gatsby

Jane  - Austen (author) and Jane Eyre

Tess(a) - of the d'Urbervilles

Ophelia - Macbeth/Shakespeare

Stella - Streetcar Named Desire (technically a play)

Primrose - The Hunger Games

Rue - The Hunger Games

Phoebe - Catcher in the Rye

Violet - Charlie & The Chocolate Factory ;)

Ramona - Quimby from the popular children's books

Matilda - LOVE.

Lousia - author of LIttle Women

Josephine - Little Women
Hermione - Harry Potter

Luna - HP

Charlotte - her web ;)

I could continue, but I don't want to overwhelm you. Let me know if you want more! I told you, I have a slight  huge obsession! :)
