Think of any names that rhyme?? My best friends who are twins are named MacKenzi (Kenzi) and Lenzi...Anything else that rhymes with those?? Or other cool rhyming names?? Sorry, I was bored...

We are currently expecting number four, and are so excited! I am of course a mother first, but I am a writer second. I am a nut about names and etymology in general. I love reading; I’m a sucker for both the more modern fantasy books, like Harry Potter, and the also classics, like Shakespeare. Music is another thing that I could’ve live without, and I have to say my tastes definitely lean towards modern rock: Nickelback, Hinder, Papa Roach, and Theory of a Deadman are my very favorites. Not too big on television, but I couldn’t live without Lost. I also love cars (and driving them!), and I am the proud “mommy” of a Ford Mustang. I’m also pretty big on talking and I like to see myself as friendly, so I hope to see you around the boards!

I'm usually not a huge fan of rhyming names, myself -- no offense to anyone else, of course! One of my doctors when I was pregnant with Shay and Shelby was a twin herself, and their names were Roy and Joy  I thought that was cute.

I think it's weird to name twins with rhyming names...Kinda makes it harder to find the whole "individuality" thing, but I was just thinking about it and...As I said, I was bored...Sailor and my nieces and nephews are at a birthday party and this was the first topic I could think of!! lol. Sad, but true.

I like Iris Johansen, Karen Marie Moning, Stephen King, James Patterson, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, Diana Gabaldon, Kathy Reichs, and Robert Burns (every Scot's favorite author). I really love music and even got accepted to the Mason Gross School of Performing Arts at Rutgers University (my alma mater) for vocal performance. Unfortunately performance life was not for me, so I went into English Lit and French instead. Music is still a big part of my life, and I like a multitude of musical genres from Reggae to Rock to Opera. I've seen Carmen and La bohème each twice. (And I cry every time.) My husband and I also have a special place in our hearts for The Beatles.

Madison & Addison
Mae & Rae (or May & Ray)
Brian & Ryan
Pat & Matt
Cheryl & Beryl & Meryl
Bailey & Hailey
Jayden & Hayden

These are all I can think of for now. However, I wouldn't be in favor of using rhyming names on my kids.

Yeah, I know...My mom keeps getting my siblings and I mixed up, and our names just start with the same letter...It would be a lot harder if our names all rhymed!!

Exactly. And it's not sad, it's a fun topic to discuss :D If I recall, my hubby's grandmother kept going on about how "adorable" it would be if the girls had rhyming names  So glad we didn't even consider that!

I agree. I mean there's nothing wrong with giving them names that start with the same letter or are from the same origin (like Gaelic, Welsh, Hebrew etc), but names Hailey and Kayley just aren't attractive to me because the child seems to loose their personality. They are just seen as twins, not for the individuals who they are.

Exactly! Kenzi and Lennie both tried hard to make everyone know they were individual people, but they still get mixed up...They got mad if you told them they looked alike...They were very against the whole "alike" thing. They cut and dyed their hair and changed their clothes so much to try and fix that, but it never worked....

LOL, my mom does that with Fiona and I, and our names are drastically different and we hardly look like sisters to boot! She's blond w/ brown eyes, I'm a brunette with gray eyes. It's just funny.

lol. Yeah, well, how many siblings do you have?? Just you and your sister or are there more? My mom says it's because she has so many, but I don't think it's so hard to get "Danielle, David, and Destiny" mixed up...Everyone else who are not our parents seem to get us straight. lol.

 That is funny! For some reason, one of my hubby's uncles has gotten me confused with my cousin Adriana once or twice -- despite the fact that our names are also very different, she's six years younger than me, and that she's a brown-eyed brunette while I'm a blue-eyed blonde... not to mention I'M the one married to their nephew!

I went to high school with quite a few sets of twins. There were 2 sets of B/G twins in my grade, but like 4 or 5 of identicals in the grade before me. I was friends with twins Jacqueline and Jennifer. They did the same thing with cutting of the hair and dressing differently, but they had a lot of the same interests so they were always together and hardly anyone could keep them straight. Most of the time I was able to tell them a part, but I had a leg up on most people - I'd known them basically since I was born. Our moms were/are bosom buddies.

That's just funny...I hope when I have more kids, I don't get their names mixed up...Especially if it's a boy and a girl...I'm tired of being called David...If I was lucky I'd get David Elle...

LOL, well I'm sure we've frazzled our parents' brains enough to warrant a mix up now and then. Or at least that's the excuse I'm using since I have a feeling I do it to my kids too.

I like twins that share the same first letter, but rhyming is another thing.

I think it may sound a bit strange when you say the names together like "Brianna!Luanna!Come here!" it sounds like you're either teasing or mispronouncing.
