Abella - I much prefer Annabella. Abella feels slightly awkward to say. It isn't terrible and I can understand the appeal but it feels a little 'clunky'.
Abrianna - I don't care for it. It feels like a smoosh of names together. I don't mind Adriana.
Abrielle - Not my style. It just lacks substance for me. Feels trendy.
Adalyn - Not my style, though I love Adeline and Ada. Adding 'lyn' to the end of established names seems to be a rising trend and well it just feels trendy.
Adara - A bit harsh for my liking.
Addison - I strongly dislike Addison. It is masculine imo and is also the name of a disease.
Adelaide - Pretty. I think I slightly prefer Adeline but I like both.
Adele - Beautiful. It has an old antique charm but still feels current.
Adeline - Love it. See Adele.
Adrienne - I prefer Adrian on a boy to Adrienne on a girl though it is one of the few names that I like on either sex,
Alexa - I much prefer Alexandra nn Alexa but I don't mind it on its own.
Alivia - Not my style at all. I much prefer Olivia. I think Alivia would have to constantly go through life saying "Olivia with an A".
Allison - I've always found Allison to be bland. I do like Alice though.
Alyssa - Very 90's dated. It feels very "been there, done that".
Amelia - Pretty. It has great nn potential too.
Anna-Kate - I would prefer Anna Kate as to separate names. Even Anna Katherine nn Anna Kate.
Annalise/Annelies - Beautiful. It has an exotic feel and lots of nn potential. My preferred spelling is Annelise.
Anne-Marie - I would like it more without the hyphen or as one name ie. Annemarie.
Arabella - I like it in theory, however it is a bit over the top princess. I think it would make a better mn.
Arianna - Not my style. Too trendy for my liking.
Aspen - I strongly dislike this one. Anything that starts with 'as$' makes for a bad name in my book. All I hear is "as$ spin".
Aubrey - I much prefer Audrey. The Bre sound feels harsh imo.
Audrey - Pretty. Very classically beautiful.
Ava - I like Ava though the popularity bothers me.
Bella - I much prefer this as a nn, although I think I would steer clear of 'Twilight names' for while as they are bound to rise in popularity.
Bianca - I have a really bad association with Bianca. I can't give an unbiased opinion.
Blair - It lacks femininity for me. I find it bland.
Blake - This is definitley all boy in my books.
Blakely - Not my style at all. It feels very trendy and is made up.
Braylin - I strongly dislike this. It feels harsh and trendy.
Bridgette - I prefer the spelling Bridget though I don't mind this spelling. I like it. It has almost a timeless feel, like it isn't particularly attached or associated with any one decade. It is underused imo.
Brinkley - I think of the model Christie Brinkley. That is a lot to live up to. As a first name it feels harsh and trendy.
Brooke - for MN only - I don't mind Brooke, though it feels rather filler as a mn. I suppose it would really depend on the flow/feel of the combo.
Callie / Calleigh - Not my style. It feels cutesy and nicknamey to me. I like Calla though and I don't mind Callie (this spelling only) as a nn.
Cambria - Not my style. It again feels harsh and trendy to me.
Camdyn - Strongly dislike this one. Camden is a not so reputable city in NJ. It also feels masculine and the 'y' in place of an 'e' makes it look trendy.
Camille - Pretty. I think I prefer it as a mn.
Carina - Beautiful. This has really been growing on me. It has an exotic elegance. I also like Caterina.
Carleigh - Not my style. I prefer the spelling Carly or even Carlie but either way it feels dated.
Caroline - Nice. It isn't something I would use myself but I appreciate the names classic feel.
Carsyn - Strongly dislike. See Camdyn.
Cate / Cait - Nice. I prefer the spelling Cate. I like it on its own or as a nn for Catherine.
Charlotte - Love it. It has such a sweet, girl next door feel.
Cheyenne - Not my style. I don't care much for names that begin with an 'sh' sound, feels very 80's.
Chloe - I have always felt that Chloe doesn't age well. It is like she is eternally 5. It just feels overly cutesy and unsubstantial to me.
Claire - Nice. Sweet and simple.
Colette - Not my style. Feels dated.
Colleen - Ditto.
Delaney - Not my style.
Dixie
- Strongly dislike this one. I think of the Dixie Chicks. I think of this more as a pet name.

My favorites: Adelaide, Adele, Adeline, Amelia, Annelise, Audrey, Bridgette, Cate, Carina, Charlotte & Claire

For Abella, I much prefer Arabella (or Annabella). For Abrielle (?), I think Gabrielle would be much better, or Arielle. I love Bella and Charlotte!

Abella: Seems a little made-up to me. I prefer Annabel or something of the like.
Abrianna: Not my style, but pretty.
Abrielle: I like Arielle so much better!
Adalyn: Not bad.
Adara: Not my style
Addison: I always think I don't like this name, but every time I hear it on Private Practice I love the sound of it!! ;)
Adelaide: So cute!
Adele: We have a local newscaster with this name...that's all I can even picture. Not a bad name, though.
Adeline: Much prettier than Adalyn. So cute!
Adrienne: Not bad, not quite my style though.
Alexa: Seems slightly dated to me.
Alivia: Don't care for this with an A.
Allison: Although this seems 80s-90s-ish to me, I still think it's a beautiful name. I also like Ellison.
Alyssa: A little dated, IMO.
Amelia: Pretty, not my style
Anna-Kate: Not bad. I always like unexpected combo-names.
Annalise: I think this is a beautiful name.
Anne-Marie: Not my favorite.
Anneliese: How is this pronounced? Is it different than Annalise?
Arabella: A little flowery for me, I prefer Arabelle.
Arianna: I don't care for this name.
Aspen: I think this is an adorable name.
Aubrey: Nice enough name, I have terrible associations though!
Audrey: I actually like Aubrey better, I think.
Ava: I think this is a precious name!
Bella: I like it, a little popular as of late.
Bianca: Seems really Sopranos-esque to me. Not my style at all.
Blair: I have just never cared for this name.
Blake: Blake's a boys name, in my opinion. On the right girl though, it could be cute.
Blakely: It's kind of a mouthful for me! Pretty though.
Braylin: A little trendy, IMO.
Bridgette: Very cute. Ages well, I think.
Brinkley: Not bad on a kid, but I can't picture a 30-something named Brinkley.
Brooke - for MN only: I like the name, and I LOVE short middle names. :D
Callie / Calleigh: I love this name.
Cambria: I can only think of that band Coheed and Cambria or whatever it is.
Camdyn: I love it, but I think it looks nicer spelled Camden. Just a little airier.
Camille: Nice. Very simple and breezy.
Carina: LOVE LOVE LOVE
Carleigh: I like the name well enough and love -leigh names, but the Carl in this really stands out to me.
Caroline: Adorable. I love Carolina, too.
Carsyn: Not my style.
Cate / Cait
: Such a gorgeous, classy name.
Charlotte: So cute and playful, but still elegant!
Cheyenne
: Cute.
Chloe: Not my style.
Claire: I love Claire on little girls and grown-ups. :)
Colette: I hate this name. Just one of those that has always bugged me!
Colleen: Seems a little old-lady to me.
Delaney: SUCH a precious name. Love it.
Dixie: On the right girl, this could be adorable.

Here are my thoughts on the ones I like:

Adalyn ~ cute. It's different without being way out there. And its very girly, which I love
Addison ~ love it
Adeline ~ cute and spunky
Alexa ~ pretty, but not my favorite
Alivia ~ love it!
Allison ~ a guilty pleasure of mine ;)
Alyssa ~ well...what can I say? It's alright, but I wouldn't choose it if I had the choice
Amelia ~ very pretty and underused. Mia is a cute nn
Annalise/Anneliese ~ I prefer Annelise or Annalise. Pretty and feminine.
Arabella ~ i love it pronounced "R"-uh-bella
Arianna ~ LOVE IT! Guilty pleasure!!
Audrey ~ pretty and definitely better than Aubrey
Ava ~ cute!
Blake ~ love it for a girl or boy
Blakely ~ cute and different
Brooke - for MN only ~ I like it only for a mn too
Callie ~ cute, but I think it's better as a middle name. Calla and Calista are cute full names
Charlotte ~ very sweet
Cheyenne ~ definitely underused. very pretty
Claire ~ I like it as a mn only
Colette ~ pretty! :D
Delaney ~ love it!

I hope this helps you narrow it down a bit! :)

Really, what was I thinking with some of these names. Funny how my naming style has changed ...

These are still loosely on my list --
Adalyn
Adelaide
Adele
Adeline
Adrienne
Alivia
Amelia
Anna-Kate
Anne-Marie
Anneliese
Ava

Bella
Bianca
Blair
Bridgette

Callie / Calleigh
Carleigh
Caroline
Cate / Cait
Charlotte
Claire
Colette

Delaney
Dixie - more of a GP

Bolded are probably the only ones I would ever consider using.

I am loving annelise and hope you wouldn't mind too much if I steal it for my second due in October (if it's a girl, of course :( But, I am curious what you guys would use as a mn with Annelise. It is a mouthful on its own so I can't think of what would go with the name

Oh no, I don't mind at all! That's what I'm here for! If you find a name I love, then great for you.

Annelise is very beautiful. I would pair it with a shorter middle name, personally.

Here are some suggestions
- Annelise Faith
- Annelise Ruby
- Annelise Lucy / Lucie
- Annelise Lena
- Annelise Brooke
- Annelise Rose
- Annelise Ivy
- Annelise Iris
- Annelise Ava
- Annelise Quinn
- Annelise Grace
- Annelise Sadie

Hope these help?
