I recently came across this post on Facebook of this YouTube vlogger named Gabe and Jess. She's 21 I believe and has 3 kids and one on the way. She posted a picture saying to comment your childs' name and then to like the comment if it was the same as your own bundle of joy.

Some that were posted were not what I expected which is why I wanted to share them with you guys and your suggestions on them!

Kaydnse (girl)

Burgandie (girl)

Aeschylus Alexander (boy, I suppose)

Ayvrei (girl, prn. Avery)

Casidiegh Ehmalin Tate (Ehmalin is the kr8ve spelling of Emmaline)

As you can see most are kr8ve spellings...

Whoa!

Aeschylus is pronounced Ehs-kuh-luhs and is Greek (name of a Greek tragedian).

Sometimes I think people go a little far with name spelling in an attempt to make a name more unique.

This results in names definitely being misspelled and in some cases mispronounced (or a hesitation before people realize that Kaydnse is oh! Cadence).

The other thing that crosses my mind when I see a common enough name with out-there spelling is that it might look like their parents didn't know how to spell the name properly, making it look accidental rather than an intentional alternative spelling.

Anyway, sometimes it works sometimes not so much.

Ehmalin is interesting. It looks like a foreign variation of Emmaline rather than an alternative spelling, which makes it work a little better (in my opinion). This spelling also strikes me as more masculine. Anyway, I like it. S'pose it all becomes about personal preference.
