I have known for a long time that I love the name Emery William for a boy. It's meaning is brave and I think it sounds like a very strong name. But after some recent research, I've noticed that recently it has rising popularity as a name for a girl (in fact, more girls now have the name than boys do), though it started as a boy's name. I still love the name, but there are a few people in my family who also say it sounds too feminine to be given to a boy.
I would like some outside opinions. Thank you! (:

I think Emery would be a nice name for a boy. I can understand your apprehension, many unisex names like Logan or Jamie start off as boy names and then become popular for girls as well. Some of these names still hold appeal as boy names and then are used regularly for both boys and girls and are considered truly unisex.

I really like Emery for a boy, more so for a boy than I would a girl. I don't find the name very feminine at all.

If you LOVE the name, then I wouldn't let recent popularity dissuade you.

Hope this helped. Good Luck!

If you love it, go for it! If you are too apprehensive, use it as the middle name!

I think Emery is really nice for boys. I don't think it is overly feminine at all. Emery William is a great combo!

I love the name for either gender. Emery William is a great name! His middle name makes Emery sound much more masculine. Go for it! :)

I like it better on a boy than a girl, but it does remind me of an Emory board, but that's just me. It should definitely be paired with a masculine name to balance it out.

I dont think Emery is feminine at all, people just think they can take any name that ends in Y and use it on girls. It bothers me.

It's fine to use on a boy. I personally prefer Emery on a girl however. :)

A lot of names these days can be used as both, and a lot of names originally a boy's name are more commonly used on girls now (Ashley, Madison, etc.).

I say go for it. I think Emery is a nice boy's name, and it sound great with William.

It is cute, and could work well on a boy :)
