I prefer Penelope. Hattie is traditionally a nickname for Harriet. Plus Penelope has a lot of cute nickname options. :-)

I like both names, but Hattie is a nickname to me and I don't like nicknames as names. Harriet with the nickname Hattie would be really cute or even Hadley nn Haddie.

Penelope is really adorable though and has so many cute nn options: Penny, Nelly, Poppy, etc. Unfortunately the name has gained in popularity due to one of the Kardashian sisters naming their daughter Penelope.

I prefer Hattie, Penelope doesn't sound attractive to me.

I think Penelope is getting a bit trendy, and it's riding the Kardafdjksa;dfkian wave (I have no idea how to spell/say their name.) I may be wrong but I sort of see it as one of those names that in 30 years people will hear and say "Oh, you must have been born in the early 10's" I also don't like the nickname Penny's association with The Big Bang Theory. If I didn't have these hangups about name associations, Penelope would probably be on my GP list.

Hattie, on the other hand, I think is a cute nickname for Harriet or perhaps Henrietta. I can't really see it as a name all by itself, though.

I'm a bit biased towards Hattie ;) I adore it! I'd use Harriet "Hattie" in a heartbeat if Mike weren't so opposed :( Its so beautiful and sassy, I'm head over heels for it haha!

Penelope is so lovely as well though, I do like it. Penny, Nell, Ellie, Lo, etc its just got such a lovely variety of nick names <3

Both are very gorgeous choices, theres no going wrong! ;)
