Opinions on the name Minami Kai?

They are both Japanese names and means "south ocean."

Personally, I'd say no to Minami unless you live in Japan/are Japanese/have Japanese ancestry. Maybe you could go with another similar name with a universal appeal, like Mina or Ami?

Also, it'll get English-ified when called out - Mean-am-ee or Men-uh-me or the like.

My first thought - "sounds like that anime Minami-ke"

Sound-wise it is cute. But then again, I think Tsubasa and China (Chee-na) are cute but would never use them. :wub:
