Dear Diary,

[Child #1] is already 3 years old, [husband] and I can't believe it. We are also 7 months along with our next little one, a [gender]. We're [choose one: excited or nervous] to see how [child #1] will react to the new baby, but all in all we know [he/she] will be a great older sibling.

We've selected the name [name] for our new baby. The first name, [fn], honors a great and charming President that [husband] and I admire. [MN #1] is a name that has been in DH's family for generations, so we are carrying it on. I think it is a quite pleasant name, so I don't mind a bit. We are putting my maiden name as the second MN to carry that on as well. I can't wait to meet little [name], our [princess/knight in shining armour].

In just two days, our family is packing up and moving to a new city: [city]. [husband] has a new job there and I will stay home with the kids. We are sad to be leaving Duluth, this town has been good to us, but we are excited for what adventures [city] holds for us. We've picked out a lovely home in a nice, family-centered community and selected a good preschool for [child 1] to start in the fall.

Sincerely,

[your name]

Monday Morning, 8:24 AM

Duluth, Minnesota, USA

Dear Diary,

I was walking home from the market yesterday when I swapped glances with a young man driving down the road the other direction. He stopped his car and came over to me. He told me that he found me to be eye-catchingly beautiful, and he seemed very sincere. He introduced himself as Peter Nathaniel Beckett. He is very sweet, and handsome, too. He has nicely combed hair and big green eyes. He asked me out to the movies, and though I was reluctant, I said yes.

Peter was two minutes early to pick me up. He was dressed in a nice collared shirt and smelled of the same cologne my father used to wear. He had a beautiful bouquet of lilies for me. We saw the new picture I Died a Thousand Times starring Shelley Winters and Jack Palance. Peter was such a gentleman the entirety of the night. He was silly, too, and could make me laugh more than anyone I know. His smile was infectious, and he charmed everyone we met. And, he asked to see me again.

Sincerely,

Margaret Ivy "Mamie" Tennyson

Dear Diary,

Peter and I had a magnificent wedding. It feels great to be Mrs. Beckett. My dress was a light blue strapless dress with jeweled detailing, I truly loved it. Both of our families were at the wedding. It was at a church here in Duluth.

Peter took me on a honeymoon to Chicago, Illinois. It was so beautiful there, and of course I loved one-on-one time with my man. The hotel was lovely and provided great service. We got back yesterday. Today is the first day of normal life together. I can't wait for Peter to get home from work, I've cooked some chicken parmesan for him. He works at the Ford automotive factory and works very hard.

Sincerely,

Margaret "Mamie" Beckett

Dear Diary,

Today the doctor told me that I am pregnant with a baby boy. Peter and I couldn't be more excited to be parents. As soon as he gets home from work, he is taking me out the diner on 7th street to celebrate.

I already know what I will name our little man, I've known since I was just a child what I'd like my first child to be called. He will be Jonas Frederick Wade Beckett. The first name honors Peter's father, the middle name my grandfather. Wade honors a favorite uncle of mine, one that really invested in me as a child and encouraged me to live up to my potential. He taught me how to ride a horse at his ranch during my summers as a little girl. Peter really likes the name choice as well.

Sincerely,

Margaret "Mamie" Beckett
