Just wondering. (: I don't usually like same-letter twin names, but I love both names!

(I came over here because the people in the polls have gone nuts. I mean, salad dressing names? Schmoopie? Someone shoot me.)

I like both names, but I remember reading somewhere on one of these forums that Astrid might get call A$$turd, and it really put me off of it as a first name. I can definitely see some mean-spirited but creative kids having fun with the As- portion of Astrid. Too bad, since it is a nice name.

P.S. Schmoopie? Has to be a joke. Right? *fears for the future of children everywhere otherwise*

Like I said, I like the name. I think it would be great as a middle name (as long as the name didn't end with an A or S). I would use it myself, but most of my girl first names end with A. Of course, I have really consider very few names to be out-of-bounds for a middle name. I rarely use my middle (like 10 times a year tops), so I go kind of crazy with middles. :sheepish:

I like both names. I used to know someone called Astrid. Not very well, but she was really nice and I never heard anyone making fun of the name.

They go well together too, even though, like you, I am not a fan of the same letter twin names.

Though the possibility is there that she'd be teased, I don't think an Astrid would really be teased unless it was just in her personality. Cause most schoolground kids that tease usually pick out the teasing because of the childs personality. No matter what an "odd" personalitied child would get teased no matter what :P

So I wouldn't worry to much about it :)

But I kinda like Astrid now. Me and RJ and Ryan Chase went to go see that movie, "how to train your dragon", and there was a girl with that name. I will admit though, I only really like it cause of the movie! :sheepish grin: Plus, RJ had been talking about the name a lot recently... so I've been hearing it :P

I love Aurora too! I mean, I personaly have a hard time saying it lol! But its very sweet!

Aurora and Astrid would be nice together :D (to answer your initial question lol!)

I love both Aurora and Astrid, but agree that Astrid might be better as a middle name. I think it's cute when twins or siblings have reversed initials because it's not an obvious pattern to everyone. Maybe Aurora Cathleen and Cadence Astrid?

My mom has always had a problem saying her R's close together. Like Rare or Aurora. So I know I could never name my kid Aurora or Rory :) I'm pretty sure she is just weird but Aurora can be a bit of a challange to say. Besides that I like both the name Aurora and Astrid and I think that they are a nice sib set. Different enough in sound yet alike in style and meaning (Both meanings related to the sky). So as a twin set they go nicely together.
