We spend a significant amount of time talking about our favorite names, but I was just curious as to what your least favorite names are.

I'm guessing people don't talk about their least favorite names cause some people can get offensive/offended lol. But I generally dislike all names that sound extremely old to me (agatha, Edgar/Edmond/Edward-any Ed, or Beatrice). Or way too out there (Xanthe, Ardnaxela, Yewan). Or just generally made up. Or anything spelled wrong creatively (Koreigh, Genipher, Heidynn). The last of which bothers me to extremes, lol.

Not keen on old fashioned names, like Roberta, Augasta, Gertrude, unusual spellings, Haydannn etc, or Edgar, the name really bugs me becuase of the hard edga sound. Also I severly dislike the name Ryan it's just too common and I got this image of a bad boy.

Carlyle for a girl.
Also, I agree. People don't talk about names they dislike because (for example) if I said I hate Yasmine (just joking Yazzie I love your name) then it might upset her.

But I really hate Carlyle...

I know it's a touchy subject sometimes, I was just curious as to the names that are most definitely not your style.

There are a lot of names that I don't like, but I really hate names that are generally used for boys, on girls. It just makes me feel bad for the little girl who has to live with a boy name for her whole life. Here are some examples (this includes all variations of spellings. Changing the spelling does not change the name):

Austin
Ashton
Carson
Darren
Devin
Emerson
Evan
Hunter
Logan
Mason
Payton (I dislike this name all together)
Ryan
Tyler

I usually keep my comments about this to myself, but it has been driving me crazy. Especially because some of my favorite boy names (Hunter, Emerson, Logan, Mason) are being used as girl names, and they don't even sound the least bit feminine.

-Names with crazy spelling.
-Wordy combos. Ei: Crystal Shanda Leer (this one was mentioned by Zayda before)
-Names that make you look as if you were an imaginary friend or you just came out of my little pony. Ei: Fixi Trixibell. That's just ridiculous.

And, others, I dislike:

-Grayson or Greyson
-Jaxon.

I generally don't like names that sound dated...ie: Agatha, Esther,Carlisle, Edgar, Eleanor,etc.

I don't like names that look too crazy/made up...ie: Haidynn, Kerralynne,Coreighe, etc. (although I do like alternate spellings)

I'm really starting to hate names that are associated with Twilight...ie: Jasper, Rosalie, Isabella/Bella, Edward. (I actually despise Twilight...there i said it, please don't hurt me!)

I'm also not a big fan of boy names on girls...ie: Austin, Kevin, Logan, Kaydan, etc. (I know Nathan's mom does this and it drives me bananas!)

Lastly, when I have a kid in daycare that has a behavior problem/is bad, then I generally start disliking the name...ie: Marcus, Aiden, Logan, Cody, Madison, Madalyn, Courtney, etc.

I feel really bad now. I hate saying names that I dislike in fear that it will hurt somebody's feelings :P

It's funny to see my boyfriends name on this post - Edgar. i still don't like it but it's ok he hates it too.

i dislike those really weird unisex names, the ones you know should be a girls name or a boys, not for both.
for example - ashley, tracy, marion, ryan, emerson (i met a girl with this name)

ann & marie bother me because its not creative ebough.

I generally don't like names that are too trendy. Plus weird/crazy spellings really bother me to no end.

Although I don't like to generalize, because I'm firmly convinced names evoke something entirely different in each of us.
For example, I often like classical names, that sometime are considered dated. For example I love Esther!
