I really like this name, but is it unusable is today's society? What do you think of the name itself? Any middle name suggestions? I love the nickname Cai/Kai for it (because it honors someone very special to me). Thanks, you guys! :-)
Mordecai?

I think it's a very awesome name with a great meaning, "warrior". I think it's totally usable and it's great that it honors someone special to you.

This has always been a GP of mine. It reminds me too much of The Regular Show now, plus I'm not brave enough to use it

I love it! I have no nick names for it though as i have a friend named Kai, and I dont want them to share a name. I thought of 'decky' or 'ducky' (when I had Declan on my list Ducky was my nick name for it lmao). But idk if thats weird.
Anyway. I think entirely usable! Its biblical I think? Cant remember if a good or bad biblical character but a character none the less.

While I like the name Kai, I don't think I could use Mordecai. A kid I babysit watches The Regular Show, so I just think of the blue bird when I hear the name. As for biblical connotations, Mordecai was Esther's uncle/adoptive father. Whether or not that is a positive association depends on how you view the book of Esther. But that's more of a theological debate, lol
I prefer Malachi for a kid nicknamed Kai.

I think it is completely a useable name. It's very different, and I think you have to be brave to use it, but it's definitely usable. And I think the nickname Kai/Cai works with the name, and if it means something to you, that makes it even better.

I'm not going to use it. I think it'll just stay as a GP. Someone who I respect says it sounds like death because the word part (etymology) mort means death. I see his point and I wasn't really sure if I liked it. I LOVE Malakai though. I changed the spelling from Malachi to Malakai because the original spelling bothers me. Thanks for your opinion. :-)

I purely don't like it because it was the name of a character in a very boring movie I watched so it kind of doesn't sit well with me, but it does sound cool!
