Still playing with names for a potential baby #3. We already have Kayli Dawn and Luke Thomas.

How the first two were named
With Kayli, DH set the parameters that her name had to start with a "K" and end with an "I". (Like my name. There are not many names out there!) She alsohas my middle name, which is also my dad's name. I do like that she can go by Kay as an adult, if she wants. Luke is from dh's mom's middle name Lou and Thomas is both dh's and dh's grandfather's middle names.

Possibilities
I say that because the two names I am loving right now has NO family connections -

Audrey Caroline
Caroline Elizabeth.

I guess if I pushed it I could say Caroline is after my grandfather - Charles - a bit of a reach though.

Problem?
What do you guys think? Should I worry about this? DH likes Emily Jean. My FIL's name is Gene. While I think it is fine - I'm just not in love with it. Both DH and I enjoy old movies. I think Audrey, from Audrey Hepburn, pays homage to something we enjoy together. I don't know, just thinking aloud.

Boy's Name
We have decided on a boy's name - Samuel Travis. Travis is my mom's name. Yes, my mom who was named after her AUNT!

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I think Charlotte would better honor a Charles... But, Audrey Caroline and Caroline Elizabeth are gorgeous. I prefer Audrey Caroline. :-)

How about Caroline Elizabeth Jean? It has the combo you love, compromises with your husband, and honors family :)

Lovely names, by the way!

Thanks - I really adore these names right now. I agree Charlotte is the name that would honor my grandfather, Charles. I think it is a great name as well. I just like Caroline better. Two middle names may work - still unsure on that - Audrey Caroline Jean or Caroline Elizabeth Jean.

Just thinking - my mom's middle name is June, FIL's name is Gene. If I used Jane would this honor both of them or am I stretching it now??? Audrey Jane; Caroline Jane; Carolyn Jane???

I think its alright for one of the names to not have family ties :) Its not like she'll feel left out, I'm sure. As long as you are genuinely in love with her name, thats what matters!
I guess Caroline technically has ties to Charles, but it sure is a stretch. If it bothers you, maybe you can try adding a second middle name int hre? Are there any particular family members you would like to honor? I think its great when you find ties to a name that aren't intentional. Like with Audrey. You both love Audrey, and it just so happens you both love old movies and Audrey Hepburn, so its all the better for you! I'd not use Jean if you don't love it though. If he feels he really wants it in there, maybe Audrey Caroline Jean?
I can totally imagine a sib set of Kayli, Luke, and Audrey :)

Samuel Travis is very handsome name :) Fits big siblings very well <3
