Instead of focusing in class today I decided to try to find a way to honor my cousin without using her name since I'm not sure how my family would react. Here's what I've come up with:
Camille/Camilla (patron saint of nurses)
Margaret (patron saint of nurses)
Milena (warmth, love, grace)
May/Mae (birth month)
Not a lot but it's something.

What are some ways you guys have come up with to honor people?

I've tried finding names with similar meanings. My dads name is James Lloyd Jr. I tried to find something with the same meaning as Lloyd (which is grey I believe) it was worth the shot lol and you could always look for other variations of the name as well. Or maybe even that name in another language

Ill fully reply in the morning, but I'm using my grandparents surname as a middle name for honoring. And it doesnt work as well in your situation, but I've got a favorite name of special people (its actually a fave of both Mikes grandmother and mine, but mikes emphasizes it more. Its partially an aunts fave too. Though id use it for gigie) : Emily. So they'd happily use a favorite name through my kid i guess.

You can do initials as well. Favorite seaaon, actor, character, color, etc as well :)

Ill reply more proper un the morning x

Instead of starting a new topic I figured I'd post this here since It's what started my search over again. Here's my "new and improved" list. For the first time I have more girl names than boys. It's really really weird to me. Although I'm sure it will shrink in running them by Martin. So honest opinions and FN/MN suggestions please? Thanks!

*=honoring (although I may have stretched to get there....)

Girls:
Camille/Camilla*
Milena*
Cecily/Cecilia
Lilith
Jane
Siofra
Elodie
Summer* (middle only)
Whitley*
Suvi* ( means summer)

Boys:
Dominic
Isaac Dante
Tate (middle only)
Simon (Mentalist anyone?)
Samuel

Camille // Camilla is very pretty! Its one of those names I love seeing on others children, though I wouldn't necessarily use myself (purely because its not my style I guess). Its a nice name though.
Camille Anneliese
Camille Rhiannon
Camilla Penelope
Camilla Snow

Milena is nice. I knew a Melina, and she was really nice. I kinda prefer the spelling Melina, but Milena is nice as well.
Milena Isla
Milena Indie
Milena Carys

Cecily // Cecilia are both nice. I prefer Cecilia personally, but Cecily is just as nice. Its plenty full a name, but I guess maybe I think Cecilia is fuller? I'm not sure. Either way, nice choices.
Cecily Maeve
Cecily Greta
Cecilia Maude
Cecelia Bryn

Lilith is beautiful! :)
Lilith Harlow
Lilith Rory
Lilith Tamara
Lilith Haven

Jane is so gorgeous, I love it! Classy, simple, lovely <3
Jane Catalina
Jane Ariella
Jane Cecily
Jane Iris

Siofra is nice, though not my style. <3
Siofra Cambrie
Siofra Natalie
Siofre Chloe

Elodie is really lovely, I like it!! Cutesy but ages nice <3
Elodie Victoire
Elodie Shae
Elodie Nina

Summer is nice, I like it. Especially as a middle name I think.
Elodie Summer
Camilla Summer
Milena Summer
Lilith Summer
Jane Summer
Aria Summer
Leila Summer

Whitley isn't my style, but its okay. I had a traumatizing experience when reading a book with a girl named Whitney in it and since then I see the name or similar ones and cringe. Its not a horribly popular book so I doubt anyone would think the same thing. Random, but yeah. Otherwise nice!
Whitley Carla
Whitley Vanessa
Whitley Arbor

Suvi is okay, maybe as a middle I'd say. Very unique. Actually, when said aloud, it doesn't sound all too different than familiar names. Kinda Japanese? Nice either way. I kind of prefer Suri, though it does have the Suri Cruise association. Suri is a good nick name for Serena/Surina or something though... rambling here.
Suvi Arabelle
Suvi Merida
Suvi Cadence

Dominic is that one name I just greatly dislike for no real reason... same with Dominique. I'm not sure why, but ever since I was little I disliked it. There's nothing I see thats particularly wrong with the name itself, its just random I guess.
Dominic Christian
Dominic Edmund
Dominic Charles

Isaac Dante has been growing on me for whatever reason. When you first posted it I was indifferent, but I'm starting to really like it :)

Tate is handsome, its a name I've always liked but never really put on my list. Mainly because I love Kate too, I think. Can't have a Kate and a Tate haha
Mason Tate
Andrew Tate
Keagan Tate
Warren Tate

Simon is super handsome! I love it <3 I'm not huge on the mentalist, I've seen a few episodes because my brother had it on. And though I was very interested, I'm not a huge TV fan. No matter how much I like a show I don't commit to anything haha. Anyway, I love Simon <3
Simon Oliver
Simon Tobias
Simon Archer
Simon Finn
Simon Matthias

Samuel is handsome, I adore Sammy on a little boy! <3
Samuel River
Samuel Ewan
Samuel Ivan
Samuel Parker
Samuel Benjamin

I hope these help!!

If we'd had a boy, we wanted to use my husband's mn as the baby's mn. Since we had a girl, we didn't use her name to honor anyone. Now I wish her name did honor a family member, but I love her name anyway. On a lighter note, her name, Nora actually does mean Honor. so maybe that counts for something :)

Thanks guys!

NoraKate'sMom: I think my cousin would've approved of whatever as long as we loved it. It was Martin's idea to honor her but he tossed Leigh (her middle name) out because his first serious ex's middle name is Lee.
And I love your daughter's name btw!

Remy: My family is huge on the Mentalist even though I don't watch it much anymore. Jane is actually really funny and it took me awhile to realize the actor's name was Simon Baker. But I like Simon too much to give it up. Would having a Simon and a Jane be a bit too much? Especially since I'm not a huge fan of the show.
I felt the same way about Dante especially sincere it's after a video game character. But playing the game and watching the show have made me appreciate whyy Martin loves it so much.

Okay, I currently have:
Camilla Snow (Milla/Cam)
Cecilia Snow (although I'd probably call her Cee or Cece)
Lilith Harlowe is gorgeous. (If I can get it past Martin it's good to go)
Elodie Jane
Milena Suvi/Summer

Simon Tate/Matthais (Matthais avoids my sister's dibs on Matthew which I've come to like)
Samuel Dominic
