So I've been trying to cut back a little on my posts just because I know I can get a little excited when I start thinking names, but I came up with this combo a few days ago, and I'm absolutely in love and eager to hear what people think.

Isla Vivienne

Of course, I have a lot of spelling options with this one. Isla/Aila/Ayla {prn. EYE-luh} and Vivienne/Vivian. Just wondering which you like best and what you think of the name.

Thanks!

I love the name Isla , but I wouldn't ever use it.
I'm not really found of the name Vivian, though I like the spelling Vivienne.
I think this combo is adorable though!

Thanks for the input :]

I've always liked Vivienne spelled this way better, but I'm always worried it looks too cluttered. But I think Isla Vivienne just looks a little bit better than Isla Vivian

You're welcome, anytime. (:

I agree with you that Vivienne looks a little nicer than Vivian, especially paired with Isla. Good luck, and happy name dreaming!

I love it! Definitely Vivienne not Vivian, much prettier! and I'd go with the traditional spelling Isla!

Isla Vivienne for sure <3

Vivian is a little too old lady for my taste and I think with a spelling like Aila the pronounciation will end up being confused for AY-la.

I love that name though!

I adore the name Isla  It's one of my current favourite names. Isla Vivienne is really pretty. I really like the name Vivienne, but due to personal reasons, I always associate it badly :(

But it's pretty and sounds really nice :)

I love the sound of the name, but I prefer the spelling Aila Vivienne. I speak Spanish, so whenever I see "isla" I pronounce it "EES-la".

I love Isla Vivienne!!! Gorgeous, flows nice, styles match so nicely!

I think Isla is definitely the best spelling for it, Aila looks a little confusing, and I feel like a lot of people look at Ayla as Kayla without the K, rather than eye-lah. And I love Vivienne best because it plays up on the frills, though Vivian is nice as well :)

Thank you for your input everyone - it's nice to have such positive feedback :]

I do think I'd go with the spelling Isla. If I ever used it, I know I {and my daughter} would have to be prepared to correct people every so often, but once people know how to say it, it'd be easy. I have a name that I often have to spell and pronounce correctly for people, and I've ended up not minding much. It's something that you get used to and its worth it for a good name

Isla Vivienne is a really pretty name. :)

I agree with everyone who said to keep the spelling this way, any other way would get complicated & less pretty. <3

On the topic of Isla, I've been playing around with it a little, and came up with the name EYE-lee-uh, though I have no idea how I would spell it (Aylia, Islia, Ailea, etc) None of them look right, which is frustrating, because I'm kind of loving the sound of the name <_<

Here are a few spellings {probably my forte ;)}

Ileah
Ayleah
Aylea
Ilia
Iliya

Aileah
Ailia
Ayliah

What do you think? More?

I feel like anything beginning in Il is likely to be prn. as ILL-ee-uh. And I feel like the Ay and Ai spellings will be pronounced as AY-lee-uh (as in SAY, without the s). So frustrating lol.

There's not a spelling I love yet, but I kind of like Ileah, Ilia, Aylia, and Ayliah

Iyleah is too cluttered for me. Iylia - it could grow on me. Thanks for the suggestions. I think that if I did end up adding this name to my list I'd have to warm up to a spelling rather than just love one off the bat

No problemo :) I definately agree with you about the spelling Iyleah. I do love Iylia though
