I have two friends both spell their first name Alicia.... but they pronounce them different and get offended when you get confused. One is pronounced uh-lee-sha the other is pronounced uh-lee-see-uh. What is your opinion on the name? How would you pronounce it?

I would pronounce is uh-lee-shuh at first glance. If someone told me they pronounced it uh-lee-see-uh I wouldn't think that was weird either.

Uh-lee-shuh. I know multiple Alicia's (one even spells it Alisha) and they all pronounce it that way.

All of the Alicia's I know pronounce it uh-lee-shuh, but the other pronunciation wouldn't throw me off either. It's very similar to the name Marcia, which can be pronounced either marsh-uh or mar-cee-uh.

I must be the only one who'd pronounce Alicia like uh-li-see-uh, but I had a friend who pronounced it like that. The spelling just screams that pronunciation to me; why have the extra i there if you don't pronounce it? If it was spelled Alisha then I'd pronounce it uh-lee-shuh.

I think ah-lee-see-uh is a foreign pronunciation, like spanish or something? Both are legit pronunciations though ah-lee-shuh is more common in america. I think its the same with Stacia, Lucia, etc. Different ethnicities pronounce different letters and combinations of letters differently.
