I hope that poll posted right, my ipod is kinda screwy...

Anyway, I am having a crisis! I cant decide between Caroline Evie or Evie Caroline <|3

Originally, I was looking for middle names for Caroline. I love classic names, and Caroline is timeless. Definitely suits all ages. Quite pretty :) I read a book with a girl named Caroline in it and she was called by Caddie [Caddie Woodlawn. About a girl of the american frontier back in the day]. I adore Caddie. I talked this name over with Mike last night and he loves it too! He thinks Caroline is sweet as a button, and he thinks Caddie is just too cute. And he said he can imagine a girl/woman of any age being called by either Caddie or Caroline. The golf caddy association isnt a bad one to us, we dont care. And a few people mentioned Caddie making them think of Cady from mean girls (who pronounced Cady like Katie but everyone mispronounced it to be Caddy). I loved that movie and I dont see it as a bad association either. I have an Aunt Carol it could honor, and fond memories of a childhood friend Caroline (though she went by Kiki).

However, I think Evie Caroline flows better. I do adore Evie, its such a gorgeous name! Its also pretty classic. It makes me think of the pokemon Evee and thats cute to me. Im not huge on Pokemon but I do like it, me and my friends grew up on it. I watched a movie with an Evee in it and I adore it so good association. I adore this too.

Which do you ladies like? Should I go with my original Caroline as a first, or to Evie? Or should I look for alternate middle names so I can keep both as firsts? But I feel like they belong together... Hmm :(

Thanks!!!

I love both of these names! I like Caroline a little more than Evie though as a first name.

Just throwing this out there...but Caddy also sounds like the word catty which if you look it up in the dictionary means (Subtly cruel or malicious; spiteful: a catty remark.)

I think both Evie Caroline & Caroline Evie sound nice (You like the pron. Caro - LINE, correct?). So hard to decide! I think it really just comes down to which name you prefer...Caroline or Evie??

I voted Evie Caroline - very cute and just a lil bit sassy.(; It's not like you couldn't still use the nn "Caddie" with Evie Caroline, too.

I didnt really notice how Caddie and catty sound so alike :S definitely a negative association there... Not enough to ruin it or anything, but its a good point! Thanks for pointing it out <3
And I do pronounce Caroline as you said :) and NOT like Cara-lyn... Thats odd to me lol <3

Evie Caroline does have a litle more sass to it :) and for me, I absolutely couldnt use Caddie if I used Evie Caroline. Its a big pet peeve of mine, intentionally giving your child a first name you have no plans on using. The first name would be the only one I'd use and variations thereof :) tbh I dont understand the middle name first thing :(

Fair enough, I'm the same way actually about the whole first/middle name thing. Just a suggestion! ♥

Thanks very much!! :) I do appreciate it <3 I think I'll have to ask Mike to decide for me what he thinks, cause I cant seem to come to a conclusion myself :( I see perks to both names <3

First of all, I'm glad you liked it.

Secondly, I adore both, but like Katie mentioned, it comes down to whichever you like most as a first name.

(Though you could technically call her by her middle name/a nickname)

Mmm.. I was talking to Mike about it last night, and right now he likes Evie as the first name <3 I think thats what will be on my list for now <333 until I change my mind, haha ;) He does tend to love E names, and he seems to like two syllable names, and names that end in eee. Just like Evie... lmao. He has Emma/Emmy on the list, Ellie, etc.

I know I technically could.. but I'd name my baby with the first name I plan to call her by <3 I don't wanna name my kid something I don't plan on calling her by :(

EDIT: What would you think of the double middle name: Evie Caroline Jade or Evie Caroline Rose? Then I could honor Mikes grandmother... her name is Jade and her favorite flower is Rose (and she's repeatedly brought up liking it as a name). And it has the flow, I think <3 I remember adoring Piper Amelie Faith as a combo for so long (and still do) because even though theres two middle names I feel the balance is kept. Eep I'm thinking one of these might be perfect!

I think the flow is good with both combos, but I've never liked the name Jade, so ofc that one's out for me.(; I think Evie Caroline Rose is so scrumptious though!
And you're right about Piper Amelie Faith - that one has the right flow, too.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm honestly not a fan of Jade either. I'd much rather Jane or June... but his grandmother is such a lovely woman, and Mike is really close to her. So I know he'd want to honor her.. and I'd love to honor her too, but being I'm not a huge fan of her name... lol. I think Rose would be better to me personally for honoring her, though I'll have to ask Mike his opinion. And thanks!! I think I'm officially head over heels for Evie Caroline Rose!! <3
Thanks very much <33 I wish I liked Amelie and Faith as much as I used to. I thought about updating it to Piper Amelia Faye, but its not quite the same. Ah well, this name will probably forever be on my list :)
