I am a big fan of Historical Fiction books, I love reading about the Victorian Era and there abouts...I am reading a series of books that takes place around the time of King George IV before he became king and his nickname when he was Prince was "Prinny." For some reason I am really taken by the name Prin/Pryn/Pryne for a little girl, I think it also reminds me of Hester Pryne (sp?) from the Scarlet Letter. Anyway I think Prin or "Prinny" would be a really cute name/middle name for a little girl but I cant find any names that have "Prin" in it besides Princess (Not going there) or Spring (which doesnt really count and I dont like anyway).

So I was wondering if everyone had any ideas for the name Prin....And what do you think of the name?

It's a stretch, but Primrose was the first thing that came to mind. Prin could be used as a nickname for it.
That's all I can think of right now, but I'll get back to you.

Some other names that might work. I realise they are all quite a stretch to get Prin but I don't think nicknames always have to completely relate to the given name.

I'd probably spell it Prinn or Prynn. I'm sure that I actually like it as a given name though

I think it could stand on its own just fine--it sort of reminds me of Bryn.

The best spellings in my opinion would be:
Pryn
Prynn
Prynne*

I don't like it at all because it reminds me of Hester Prynne also...and the only reason Nathaniel Hawthorne chose Prynne was because it rhymed with "sin" so I don't think that would be a good association for a baby.

Prinn/Prynn is actually kind of cute. I think it would work really well in the middle name spot because it's short and simple. But if you love it, just go with Prynn as the first name and find a pretty, longer middle name to go with.

I dunno? :) Maybe Prinlee but I'm not sold. I really like just Prynn (sp?), which I know is made up but doesnt sound made up to me, all the others are just too much and sound made up. Know what I'm saying?
