Hello,
I am expecting my third child. It has been extremely hard to find that perfect name that fits with my two other children. My daughters name is Nola Therese, and my sons name is Olin James. We are expecting a BOY and are looking for a four letter first name, that is not common. We would like the middle name to be Thomas or Benjamin but that is not set in stone. We like the name Liam and Levi, but they are too common. I recently came across the name Emmett, but we would spell it Emit. I think Emit Thomas sounds nice but is it too common and does it go well with my other children's names? I am open to suggestions, thoughts, comments, anything that could help.

Thanks!
Mille

Emit is a verb. Would you consider Amit?

I vote you avoid Emit, it is a word that isn't really positive.

Levi Thomas is actually pretty great!

Maybe try one of these uncommon options:
Ridley Thomas
Chapel Thomas
Callahan Thomas
Cavan Thomas
Dempsey Thomas
Israel Thomas
Jericho Thomas
Bodhi Thomas
Sven Thomas
Sullivan Thomas
Brecken Thomas
Lysander Thomas
Loyal Benjamin
Dash Benjamin
Leland Benjamin
Roscoe Benjamin
Rudy Benjamin
Henrik Benjamin
Fitzwilliam Benjamin "Fitz"
Teagan Benjamin
Titus Benjamin
Olaf Benjamin
Stefan Benjamin
Briley Benjamin
Nico Benjamin

So, I did foresee the name emit being a problem for that reason (it being a verb)... But I do still kind of like it. I know ultimately it is my choice and would like to thank you for sharing your opinions!

I like the name Cael... Cael Thomas.... That's nice. I will strongly consider that.
I also like Leif and Myer -- but my husband says NO! already.... :( other names he has shot down include; Coby, Koda & Abel.

Emit was the first name we both finally agreed on. Oh, what to do....

I think you should go with Emmett, don't limit yourself to only 4 letter names.  Two kids with 4 letter names isn't really a theme, just 'coincidence', 3 kids would make a theme but I wouldn't put yourself in that box if you didn't have to.  Go with what you love.

I agree with Katie. I don't think you should limit yourself to a certain number of letters. Just choose a name that you both love and go with that. Emmett is a nice name when it is spelled correctly.
