Would you use any of the Hunger Games names? It comes out next week and I was wondering if anyone would. Unlike Twilight, these names are pretty unique. Or at least not likely used today. I have yet to read the books (just started) but I, myself, have more than once entertained the idea of using Katniss. Though, I don't know if I would be so daring. The association will be automatic! How about anyone else? Or even a name from a particular book/movie/show that would be distinguishable to book/movie/show?

Hummm, I'm dying to read the Hunger Games, and I'm gunna start soon, but yes, I would use names from books/movies/show. I'm a complete Narnia nerd and that would probably be where I would get names, Caspian, Peter, Edmund..... ect.

I might as a middle name, or as a nick name for Katherine.

I would love to use Primrose, as a middle name... I wouldn't use Gale for a boy, although I would for a girl. And I would use his little brother Rory's name for a girl..

I would've totally named Ariana Lorelai after Lorelai Gilmore but Nathan wouldn't let me

BTW, I love these books, I've rereading them right now.

I know we had planned on using Kairi from Kingdom Hearts before I was ever pregnant with Cadence. James like Claire because of Resident Evil and Heroes. We got Alexandra from Wizards of Waverly Place.

A friend of mine wanted to name her baby Lorelai from Gilmore Girls if she had a girl. She has a boy and they named him Holden from Catcher in the Rye.

I am just starting on them! So far I like it. And besides the general premise, it's different than another book/movie I know of.

Oh and I got Vivienne from Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood. Even though they spell it Vivane, I like Vivienne.

Nathan is convinced that I got Ariana from Harry Potter, actually I didn't and forgot it was Dumbledore's sister's name until we watched the movie. I think they pronounced it differently too. My Ariana is ar-ee-AH-nuh

I'd use certain names from it. I actually am rather fond of the name Finnick, as well as Primrose,

It depends on the name... and if it can pass my husband!

But sometimes, stuff like that can ruin names.
I use to LOVE the name Edward.. and then Twilight came along
I'll stick with Edmund now. ^_^
(and the first time I heard Edmund was while watching The Count of Monte Cristo btw )

My absolute favourite girls name is Octavia. It has been for almost a year now, and I'm told that they use it in the Hunger Games? I've yet to read the books yet, but I would like too.

She is a minor character. So far...I just finished the first book today. Read the entire book in one day. I'm REALLY liking Katniss for a name.

I started liking Bentley and Sophia because of 16 & Pregnant/Teen Mom.

I think I would seriously consider using Prim. I also like Gale for a boy in the middle name spot.

Cato is another one that I really like but it is more of a guilty pleasure name.

Katniss would be a bit too much like naming a daughter Hermione. They are such unique names that I'm sure for the next 50 years at least, they will always be associated with the books.

I really like Primrose, and I like Katniss but I don't know if I could ever use it. Maybe as a middle name, but the book has just gotten so popular, it would be impossible for people NOT to think of the Hunger Games if someones name was Katniss.
I actually kind of like Effie though, as a nick name for something. I don't know what. But I think it's cute.

I don't know if I've gotten other names from movies or anything like that. Probably. Haha.

I haven't read the Hunger Games, so I don't know many of the names, but there is a books series called The Obernewtyn Chronicles and there are LOTS of names from there. Some I really like eg. Cameo is a bit of a guilty pleasure. And Kella.

I'm OBSESSED with the Hunger Games. I've had the first book for about 3 years now, but just finally read the series last summer. All of my friends make fun of me saying that I'm going to end up with all my kids having character names from the book.

A lot of my names on my list came from books/movies/tv shows/etc.

Lately, I've really liked:
Ethan & Sutton (from The Lying Game)
Holden (Catcher in the Rye)
Liam (Liam Hemsworth plays Gale in The Hunger Games movie)
Allison (Pretty Little Liars)
Dillan (Secret Life of the American Teenager)
Declan & Greyson (Revenge)

I'll be watching a TV show or movie and just hear a name and it'll just stick! Most of the time, I don't even remember where I heard the name from I just all of a sudden have it on my baby name list (:
