So me and Ben have decided that if we had a girl, she would be named Leona Evermay after his deceased grandmother, Leona Mae, and that we would call her Lennie.

We have been discussing boys names and Ben really likes Indiana nn Indy. I like it but I'm worried that Lennie & Indy are a tad too similar sounding.

Both names have the EN sound in the first syllable: (LEN ee) & (EN dee)
And both names end in the EE sound: (len EE) & (en DEE)
Really the only difference between the two names is the L sound at the beginning of Lennie and the D in the middle of Indy.

I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking it. Do you find them too similar?

I think it's okay. They both start with different letters and have different sounds!

I pronounce Indy "IN-dee" so to me they have different sounding first syllables.

I don't think they're too close.

Indiana isn't my style.. but Indy is cute. (I like Indie on a girl though )
