Our name we want is traditionally from french, but we can't decide on how to spell it so it can be properly pronounced in English. The pronunciation is like saying these three letters: L - E - N (el - ee- n) it has that "en" sound at the end. The two spellings we have come up with is
Eliane
Eliene
which one looks better and which one helps you to pronounce L - E - N better? I am afraid that Eliane will bring about too many Ann endings, But Eliene will be too confusing... either way we know and understand that our child will probably have to correct people on pronunciation all the time... but we are ok with it.
