I've been watching 30 Rock a lot recently. One of the character's is a girl named Cerie. It sounds like 'Suri' but someone also said it was pronounced like Marie with a soft C. I think it's a sweet name. I like Cerie Quinn. WDYT?

Haha as soon I saw this topic I knew it was going to be a 30 Rock reference. Honestly the first time I heard her name on the show, I thought it was spelled Suri. But as you stated, Suri is a little bit more deliberate and harsh sounding, while Cerie is softer with a little bit less of stress on the first syllable, like Marie as you said. Truth is, even though the differences are subtle, I like Suri Quinn better than Cerie Quinn, though I much prefer Cerie over Suri.

Probably because of 30 Rock and I can put a face to Cerie, I do kind of like the name. I don't think I'd use it, but it has a certain appeal

I've never seen the show, so I don't have the association. Nor can I put a face to it..

I suppose Cerie looks much softer, but I much prefer Suri. For pronunciation partially, its a tad confusing to look at Cerie. And I think Surie could even be an acceptable spelling to use the pronunciation like Marie

Suri Quinn [or Surie Quinn] would be quite cute!!! Cerie Quinn is nice... but yeah. I don't really love it :/

I don't watch 30 Rock either. I'm not crazy about Cerie or Suri. At first glance, I would have pronounced it "Siri" or maybe Marie with a soft C. I think Cerie Quinn is a nice combo though.
