I came across Laurence for a girls name recently (In France it is a girls name, so technically its unisex) I'd never considered it a girls name but now I kinda like it. If I ever used it, it would probably be a middle name. I posted it on the polls and got A LOT of negative feedback. What do you think about it for a girls first or middle name? I'd pronounce it (LAR ence) rather than (LORE ence).

Thanks

I can't say that I care much for it. I do like the LAR-ence pronunciation much better than LORE-ence at least on a girl. I think most would assume it was pronounced the second way though. It isn't terrible as a middle name, just not something I would use myself.

ummm no. I'm sorry. Just don't like it for a girl or for a boy. Mostly because it gives boys the nn Laurie.

It reminds me of Laurence for Little Women even with the nickname.

Another option could be Laurent.

It really depends on the first name, if you use Laurence as a middle name.
I can't say I'd use it as a name for a girl, but if you like it, then you should go for it.
The first name would probably be best if it was girly, to counter the 'boy-ishness' of Laurence.
I do like the proununciation you decided on, I think it would make it sound less 'boyish'.

Hope I helped!

I don't like it at all on a girl. It is totally 100% a boy's name to me. I could never picture a beautiful little girl named Laurence. No way.

It might work as a middle name...Adelyn Laurence is kinda cute.
