We've been struggling to settle down on a name that we both love for baby #2. We have a small list going but for the most part... none of the names feel like his name. You know?

Of course, we have our son Archer Cohen Bear "Archie". We will most likely only use one middle name for this child. My personal preference is the name has to have a nick name option.

I'd really love any suggestions... I've crossed off a good hundred names in the search thus far.

My taste is quite different from his. I like names like:

Dashiell "Dash"
Sullivan "Sully"

Phineas "Finn"

Wallace "Wally"

Jonas "Joey"

Hayes

Ezra

Charles/ Charlie

Freddie

Reid

Declan

Maddox

Lachlan

Wilder

His name taste looks more like this:

Matthew "Matt"

Warren

Harrison

Levi

Jericho

Carson

Zachary

Hunter

Jacob

Riley

** These names are names he's suggested more than once in the past five years but not necessarily recently. So they may not be entirely accurate or right now but I imagine they're still close-ish

And we're sort of agreed on these names (including ones that got rejected) :

Bennett "Ben" (I like but I don't feel it's the one)

Whitman "Whit" (only a maybe)

Rowan (rejected being it rhymes with our sons middle name, but still gives an idea of our name tastes <3 )

William (MN only)

Noah (MN only)

Reynold "Ren" (again, its nice and I'm considering but my heart doesn't feel all in)

Hawthorne (nick name ideas are my draw back. I would have to find "normal"ish nick name to match.. thus far I've only come up with Hawk or Thor.. which I like but I'd want something more familiar)

Sterling (rejected, because it'd be too strong of a reference towards the FX cartoon paired with Archer's name ;) ).

Finch (MN only)

Fraiser (MN only)

Theodore "Teddy" (both of us like it, it's just not a top contender. Plus the surname starts with the "ed" sound so it'd be a tad rhymey)

Quinn (MN only)

I think I could compromise a little on his names in that I'd be fine to use some of them as middle names (Riley, Harrison, Levi, maybe Jacob). I also attempted to compromise through finding a name with a similar nick name (ie Matteo instead of Matthew) but it was a no go.

LOL, you must have missed the Announcement in the Community Lounge: http://www.babynameg...showtopic=31805

I will come back with some more suggestions when I have more time.  Right now I'm liking Archie & Ren..maybe Ren could work as a nn for Lawrence or Camren, Warren, Soren, Trenton?

I am! Yeah, I left an announcement recently on the community lounge   I'm 5 months with a little boy! <3

I like Matthias, Lawrence, Malachi, Cooper, Elliot, Finnegan, and Ronan. Mike already vito'd Elliot, Finnegan, and Ronan. I am deciding whether I like would use Cooper, as it'd be a little matchy to have two -er ending boys names. I prefer to avoid obvious themes. :) I can't decide if Malachi is one I'd use but I could see myself warm up to it. Or maybe even Malcolm? Oh and Katie I really like Ren for Lawrence too! Maybe I could compromise on using Warren and have the nick name Ren. I'll throw them all at Mike and see what he says, anyway. The more yes and no's I get the better I can try and narrow something down.. :)

Thanks!

Thank you!  Haha it's okay Addison, I often don't check the community lounge as much as I do the Names On The Brain/ Name Games sections. <3

Thanks Meghan! I like these ones:

Finnian

Finnegan

Finley

Wilson

Jonah

Judah (Jude  )

Nolan

Lennox/ Lennon

Linden

Rhys/ Reese

Everett

Graham

I love all Finn names but Mike has pretty much said no to all of them, except plain ol' Finn and Finch (but Finch only as a middle). He kinda likes Finnick as well but we're unsure if we'd actually use that.

I asked Mike and he said Graham and Cooper are keepers  So yay progress! <3

I don't care for Beckett for some reason. Reuben makes me think the sandwich. Beau is super handsome but.. Archer and Beau is a tad theme like  :P

I am on the fence with Desmond, Sebastian, and Holden. Sebastian has had awkward associations for me for so long, but maybe I can move past it. I adore "ash" names and Sebastian could be called Bash. :) I love Holden due to an association but not sure if I'd use it myself.

Oh Katie I like,

Gilbert

Hugo

Rufus

Conrad

Truman

Norris

Newton

Haywood

Edison

I wish "ed" names didn't clash with Mike's surname as I really like Eddie names lately. <3 Mike has already said no to Hugo, Truman, Norris, and Newton. :( Do you think Rufus is too much of a dog name? I really like it a lot but worry about teasing potential? I feel like Gilbert will get a no but I'll ask anyway.. Its cute <3

Hey Remi,

I've been traveling this weekend, and came across a little family with three little brothers ;) If I were to put them in order of age (guessing), I'd say they were Sawyer, Crosby, and Archer. I didn't know if you'd be interested in those names...they made a cute sib set :)

Other names I like with Archer:

Conrad
Hawthorn
Roman
Wilson
Jude
Everett
Cooper

And Theodore and Finch make handsome middles! Just wanted to throw my advice your way! <3
