I was thinking of flower names on girls, and there are a couple that I like. Which is/are your favorite(s)? Mine are Rose, Violet, and Lily. Which do you think is prettiest out of those three?

Out of those three my favourite is Rose, but I only prefer them as middle names. I like Rose and Lily for middle names.

However, I adore the name ROSA for a girl.

I don't like flower names at all,but Lily would be my choice from your list

I really like Violet, Rose & Lily...Violet would probably the only one I'd use (mn only) since Rose and Lily are soooooo popular. I also like the ones that are a bit more unusual. I LOVE Iris. Bryony, Camellia, Dahlia, Poppy, Primrose, Yasmin, & Zinnea are also nice. I'm not a fan of Jasmine but Yasmin is a WONDERFUL alternative .

Azalea and Iris are my favorites. Calla is also pretty, but I'd probably use it as a MN. I read a book with a girl names Primrose nn Prim. I wouldn't have considered it before, but I think it's cute. You can also use Rosie, which I love as a nn for Rosemarie.

Love Primrose (Hunger Games, anyone?)

Out of your choices, I like Violet the best, I would even use it myself. Rose and Lily are names of family members, so I probably wouldn't use those, though I do think they are very pretty names. I also like:

Amaryllis
Bryony - didn't realize this was a plant name!
Delphine

That's where I got the idea for Primrose :) I loooooove the Hunger Games. The first was the best for sure. But the other names in the book didn't really grab me. Katniss was bizarre (a plant name though!), it grew on me, but I could never use it. I only figured out about half way through MockingJay that Peeta was not a British-Accent-Spelled version of Peter, but like Pita bread. And Gale seemed like a dull name for such a great character. Then, of course, there were the other contestants <3

However, I adore the name ROSA for a girl. :)

I adore Rosa! I think it's a more than valid alternative to the ever-present Rose; also, the a ending gives it a more complete sound, which makes it more suitable as a first name in my opinion.
Plus it's the name of one of my best friend -- beautiful associations never hurt!

I also love Violet & Viola [Italian alternative], Dahlia and Iris.
Laurel is also becoming a fast favourite!

Daphne is Greek for Laurel, I think I like it better because it won't be confused with Lauren

I like a lot of flower names! Though I'd never use them, I don't think... Don't love them enough for them to trump most the names on my list lol!

Lily, Rose/a, Daphne, Violet, Laurel, Azalea, Dahlia, Poppy, etc...

My favorite plant/flower/nature name though would be...

Ivy!

I absolutely adore it as of this moment, and am currently searching for a perfect middle name! :)

Haham but yeah... love love love...

Gosh, Haddie, how could I forget Ivy? I love it to pieces, and the only reason I probably won't use it, is because I love Eve just a bit more. <3

@Mariel: Yes, you're right, Daphne is beautiful and a name I'd use if I ever had a daughter right now. I'd forgotten it means Laurel, actually :)
