Hi! I'm Kolyn(pronounced like Colin) Miller! I have 5 girls, Kodi Grace & Khloe Nikole-twins age:11, Kassidy Jayne- age:9, Karleigh Sue- age:6, & Kori Patricia- age:3!

My husband, Scott, and I have been debating having another child, I'm 40 and he's 42. We would love a new addition to our already large family, but due to my advancing age, the pregnancy would be considered high risk. I love all my daughters and I have to say I'm extremely happy! I'm afraid though, that I could possibly get pregnant with twins and that would be crazy, but exciting! I'm all for spontaneous activities and I feel having another child would create so much more life in our house, yet there are still negative attributes.

What do you think I should do?

I posted on your other one as well. But when ever my mom debated about having another child, she always though about how old she would be when the baby was 10, 20, 25 and 30. She just had Quads and she is 45.

Oi! Five girls and you want more?! lol. I can't even fathom five!

1) However, I would recommend sitting down and discussing exactly why it is you guys want another one! You may find there's another issue at the root, other than just adding "more life to the house".

2) If after seriously discussing you're reasons for wanting such and still wish to proceed with the idea, go over all the pros and cons. Can you guys financially afford another child (think ahead to college tuition, not just right this minute)? Do you guys have enough room in your house for another? How do your girls feel about a new sibling? Do you have the emotional and physical strength it would take to raise another child (while still being fair to your girls)? Do you have the time (between all the work, trips to the grocery store, laundry, and the girls' hobbies/activities you partake in already)? Is another child going to potentially stress the relationship between you and your partner? etc.

3) A new addition still sounding like a wonderful idea and all parties involved agree? Then go for it! Otherwise consider maybe getting a pet (if you don't have one already).

Best wishes to you and your family! :)

I started to reply to this topic, and then I saw that you have already found out that you are pregnant. Congratulations! And twins again? I didn't realize you could find out so early, wow!
