So I'm pretty terrible at combos. Does anyone have any advice or rules they tend to follow to make combos?

Sometimes, to me, a combo just 'sounds right,' but I guess here are a couple of rules that help that along.

1. Don't use two names that end with the same letter/sound. For example, Jasper Sawyer and Nora Isabella don't have the best flow, but Jasper Samuel and Nora Isabelle have a better flow.

2. Similarly, watch out for awkward-sounding combos for various reasons. If you can say it out loud without tripping over it, that's a good sign. Sometimes this happens when the first name ends with the same letter/sound that the middle begins with. For example, Isabella Lauren might be a bit more tongue-twisting than, say, Isabella Margot. That said, don't worry about it unless it sounds awkward, because sometimes combos have similar sounds and they still work just fine.

2. Try to vary syllables if you can. For example, two two-syllable names are okay together, like Piper Eden, but sometimes the flow is nicer with one name longer than the other, like Piper Adeline. Just adding or removing a syllable here or there might make a big difference in sound and flow.

Those are just a few "rules" that come to mind. Generally I just think about whether sounds nice when you say it, and if it doesn't, that's how I know to try to change it a little. Good luck with future combos! I hope this helped a little.

Definetly. Thank you 😊 I'm hoping I can make my end of summer list. I just have sooo many singles. At this point I'm sitting on 10 combos for each gender that haven't changed much and about 20 first names for each gender and a good hundred middle names 😂 I love them all but can't decide on what to put together.
