So in a story, I have a seven year old boy named 'Charles Lancer' I am wonder what spelling of Charlie I should use for a nickname. I am curious of this in general, not just for my story, but that is a part of it :P If it helps, his family is:

Parents: Lane Brandon + Katelynn "Kate" Rose

Sibs:
William "Will" Arthur (married to Annika; twins Conor and Chase with one on the way)
Victoria "Tora" Rose
Jonathan "John" Travis
Jayson "Jay" Lewis
Grace "Gracie (only by family)" Mariah
Benjamin "Ben (or Jamin by friends)" Joel
Noah Brady
Genesis "Jessie" Dakota

I don't know if this has a baring on anything, but their CLOSEST EVER friend are:

James "Jimmy" Alden + Grace Camilla Baker
Megan Hannah "Maggie"
Sayer Jacob + Bryson Esau "Sayer + Bry"

Thanks y'all!

~ Jay

Charlie makes the most sense to me. Charley looks a bit feminine in my opinion (I know a little girl who goes by Charley).

Another nickname option is Chaz or Chase if you want something a bit more unusual than Charlie.

Hope I helped a bit. :P

Thanks y'all! I don't think I'll use Chase because thats his nephew. I like Chaz, but I know a boy named Chaz and he's not very nice XD

Oh, sorry, my brain skipped past the bit where it said Chase and Conner were his nephews.

I'm new here :P

I never even thought of Chuck! I don't think I'll use it though because he's only 7 :)

I prefer Charlie. It's the most masculine, and it looks awkward spelled any other way (ie Charliy).

Charley is how a lot of people spell it for a girl, to "make it more feminine", so it sticks out as feminine in my mind (though I do think Charley looks really nice on a girl!). It's odd, cause I'm a firm believer in spelling doesn't change the sound of a name so it wont make a name more feminine if you use it. But, Charley does look really nice on a girl! Though I certainly love Charlie on a boy! I'm such a confused child :')
