So as many of you know, Rose is my favorite name. I've always been partial to Rose on its own, but its almost impossible for me to find middles name I like with it, so I've been thinking about using a longer version and using Rose as a nickname.

The two names I've been liking a lot lately are Briar Rose and Primrose. I think that they are both gorgeous, but I'm feeling a little unsure. What do you think?

Briar Rose - It's ok. I know one Briar, and she's very nice, but it's not a first name to me; it's a fn mn.

Primrose - Sorry this is kind of harsh but EW EW EW EW EW EW. I absolutely hate it! It's like priscilla to me; too proper and old fashioned. I just absolutely deteste it, and I pity any child named Primrose.

What about:
Rosalie (LOVE THIS)
Rosalind
Rosaline
Rosalia
Rosie
Roseanne*
Rosa
Roslyn
Rosandra*
AnnaRose
CaraRose
ClaraRose
Sara(h)Rose
LilyRose (Another fave)
RoseMarie*

FN/MN Combinations

Jessica Rose
Annabelle Rose
Ashley Rose
Caitlin Rose
Annaleigh Rose
Jessamine Rose*
Elenore Rose*
Dayleigh Rose
Catarina Rose

(*Not my fave but better than Primrose)

I sort of like Rosalie. Right now, its too Twilight for my taste though.

Other than that, I guess there's a reason I've been trying to find a middle to go with just Rose. I'm really note a huge fan of any of those other variants.

I don't know exactly how I'd use Briar Rose. I like it as a full name--and I would probably call her Rose more often than Briar, but I wouldn't want to stick a middle name with it either.

As for Primrose, I love it for all the reasons you hate it. I love old fashioned, proper names. I really like the feel they have. I don't like Pricilla--sounds too much like Prissy which is too cutsie and stuffy girl for me, but Primrose is different. Even though its an embelished version of Rose, it has a simple, yet elegant feel to it. And that's what I like in a girls name--names that are girly and elegant without going over the top. (For example, I can't stand names like Annabelle or Ariella, but I love names like Anna, Ella/Elle, and Ara)

Primrose just has a really neat feel to me, and since you can get the nickname Rose from it, I don't consider it to be too "out there"

I'm a bit partial to the name Primrose but I still really like it! I like it for all of the reasons you do too. Because I have the nickname Prim for when I want to be familiar but still a bit formal like with teachers, Rose or Rosie around my family and good friends, or Primrose on college or job applications!

I like Briar Rose too but I would worry that it would be shortened to Briar more often than Rose. I guess if you always called her Rose than other people would be too.

Some suggestions!

Primrose Amelia (this is my name)
Primrose Siobhan
Primrose Kate
Primrose Catherine
Primrose Joanna
Primrose Elizabeth

Just my opinion!

Honestly, give it two, maybe three years, and no one will remember twilight.

I find Primrose to be one of those names that puts a label on whoever's name it is. I have a friend named Patience Danielle, and she is exactly the opposite of patience. She has none. We call her Dani :D

I also think that Primrose is girly, but I would call it elegant. It seem like a name that is an attempt to be 'Cute'.

Just my opinion.

Thanks, Primrose :D

I love your name! And I'm also loving Primrose Kate. I think that's going on my ever growing favorites list :P

I also love Siobhan...I'm just trying to decide if I like it with Primrose or not.

I have a love-hate relationship with my name, haha. I'd just prefer if my name were really Rose (:

What is your real name?

I don't use my real name online because its quite unique, and I'm not comforable sharing it with people I don't really know. It's close to Keira, but not....my mom made it up

Haha, yeah. I've always loved the name Rose, and when I started joining websites in middle school, my mom was more comfortable with it if I chose a fake name to use instead of my own...and it was easy to pick what I would name myself if I got the choice :D Now I've just sort of gotten used to being Rose online. It'd be weird to have people--especially on BNG--call me by my real name even if I decided to share it

Haha, I guess so. It would probably be really weird for the people who have known you for a while as Rose on BNG too.

Some slightly random comments:

Another friend of mine is Arileigha; she's on a rpg site with me and she goes by Ariana. Her mom made up the name; Aria + Leigha.

Rose was my grandma's maiden name :D

Until I was fourteen, I went by Kiara online; I was obsessed with the lion king forever.

I went by Belle online until last year when Twilight became so popular. I'm still obsessed with Beauty and the Beast!
