I am very classic in my taste of girl names. I like Anna, Agnes, Edie, Charlotte, Ruth. But my taste in boys names seems to be a bit different. I don't know. How would you categorize Whitman? What about Wiley? Elias? August? Are they more trendy or is it just trendy right now to go back to more classical names?
How would you classify...

I love (and mostly share) your taste in girls names, I prefer classical too.
And I also find that sometimes, I like names that are less classical for boys.
I'd say that Whitman has a certain "classical feel" to me. Certainly doesn't sound trendy!

I'd say your taste in boys names is unique...not quite classic, but not quite trendy either. Just your own unique taste (:

I would also say that they are unique...that's about the best I could come up with. Or Americanized. I don't know.

Katie, I know that you love the nickname Whit, right? (I think it's you, at least
I think that Whitman is a very...Victorian style name. Not trendy at all.
Wiley is an old name, but it has a trendy feel, like many would assume its a new take on Riley.
Elias is one of my favourite names. Its sweet and also manly. Again, very old-world or at least old-style.
August isn't my personal taste, but it isn't bad. It's sort of old style again!
I think that all in all, they're very nice names (except Wiley, sorry )
And I love Anna and Ruth! So pretty!
