So my brother walks into my room to ask for advice about a girl. Advice I had no clue how to give. But the point of this post is this particular sentence he said:

"There's this girl I like and her name's Kambell" (I asked him how to spell it)

I was like seriously Campbell for a girl?!

However you spell.it I just find this terrible.(No offense if you're a girl named Campbell/ Kambell)

Thoughts?

I actually like Campbell for a girl.  Cam (a common nickname for a girl) followed by the bull sound (which is very similar to all the -Belle names) gives this name a very unisex feel.   Not a huge fan of the spelling, but I find Campbell on a girl very wearable.

I like it...  The -bell ending is very common right now, and if there are girls named Cameron, then Campbell would fit right in, imo.  Especially if Campbell is honoring.  While I prefer the spelling Campbell, maybe Campbell was a family surname and they thought by changing the spelling to that would clarify pronunciation and be more girly.  If you don't mind my asking, how old is she?  Just wondering because if it is recent, it would fit right in with the trendy K names, common -bell endings, and boy names for girls trend.  :)

Alicia, really, you've never heard Campbell on a boy? That's really strange to me. I can only ever see it on a boy

My cousin is a Cambelle, named after our great-grandfather Cam. I think it's cute.

Its not my taste, but its not horrible. I feel like I read a Mary Kate and Ashley book ages ago about them going to a boarding school and being friends with two girls, Phoebe and Campbell. I think it was the Two of a Kind series lol. I have no idea how I even remember that lol!! So random. Anyway.. I don't love the spelling Kambell, but there are most certainly worse names. :)

Campbell reminds me of Campbell's Soup and Mrs. Campbell, my junior-high English teacher. I love Cam/Kam like Katy said!

I don't mind Campbell, but not a fan of the spelling Kambell.

I've heard it on both, and quite like it on both.
