Alrighty! So I have a lot of names I'm adding to my list [mainly boys], but these are the two I'm stuck on! <3

For Maeve, I do have Maeve Isabel.. and it is pretty. But Isabel/Isabella is so darn popular and even though it wont be as noticed as a middle name, it irks me a little. Plus I've had this name on my list for over a year, and I guess its less fresh than it once was So I'd really love some middle name suggestions! Also, which pronunciation do you like better? Like, I know it has one pronunciation. However, when its said Maeve rhyming with cave, the V seems to get lost in the mix. Does it sound nicer when the V is brought out a tad? Not in a silly way, like mae-VVVVVVVV. But almost in a way as Maeve would have a really soft second syllable. Does that make sense, lol?

For Theodore, I'm not sure if I want it as a middle name or not! I have no idea of Mike likes Theodore yet, though judging by the names he does like it would be a tad out of style. So its on My List, and not Our List. Or at least not on Our List yet Secondly, nick name options!! I do like Teddy, but only on a small child. Theo is nice, but it doesn't come off as nicely. So what would you think of TJ? I do adore TJ, it sounds so darn cute!! And I could use Theodore Jacob nick name TJ or something <3 But I'd only use the nick name sometimes. Because I do love Theodore, and its honestly not too long to use all the time, as Maximilian would be. Its really just as long as Aria in syllables, and Aria works well without a nick name as well! I guess Theodore just has a lot of letters in it. And I went by all three syllables of my first name all my life, so idk. Anyways, it would be cute to use TJ occasionally. Thirdly, any fn/mn suggestions? If you like the TJ idea, I'd love J middle name suggestions! If not, feel free to suggest more! I've been also thinking of Theodore Miles or Milo Theodore. Idk!

Maybe I'm just too dense to understand..

Actually the way you explain it, with the soft 'second syllable' is exactly the way I pron. it. [MAE veh]

I like Maeve Isobel and I'll tell you why. I think the middle name spot is a great place to use names you love but wouldn't necessarily use for certain reasons...i.e. Popularity. Take Christopher for example. I LOVE the sound of Christopher but I wouldn't use it for a first name because it is very common and commonly shortened to Chris (which I dislike) or sometimes Topher (which I dislike) to me Christopher is such a lovely name in its entirety that I hate to see it shortened. But it works perfectly in the middle name spot

But if the name has lost its luster ...Yasmine has some great suggestions...

I like the idea of T.J. as a nickname for Theodore...I too love Teddy as a nickname but only on a little boy and I'm not a fan of Theo either. Ted is a bit too blah for me too. Theodore is soooo adorable on its own but since it is such a long name I like the idea of having multiple nickname options.

Theodore Jacob is nice. I also love Yasmine's suggestion Theodore James!

I tend to put names that I just can't see myself using as first names, in the middle name spot. That way I can still use them! Usually, it ends up being a slightly more "unusual" name in the mn spot and the more "traditional", mainstream one as a fn! Which I think is the opposite for you?

Yes my first names tend to be a bit more "unusual" and my middle names slightly more "traditional"...I just love unusual names but would fell bad giving my kids TWO unusual names. Plus I feel that a little tradition goes a long way in making an unusual name feel wearable.

I love both names! I've only ever heard Maeve pronounced one syllable like "cave"... and to me it's a gorgeous pronunciation. Isabel may be popular, but I still think Maeve Isabel is a lovely combination.

Theodore is on my list, too! TJ is a really cute nickname. I like Theodore Jacob. Do you like: Theodore Joseph, Theodore John, Theodore James, Theodore Jason?
