Are there any names that you love but never got the chance to use for your kids?

It could be because your partner didn't like the name, it didn't 'match', it clashed with a surname....anything!

For those who haven't had kids, are there any names that you'd love to use but can't? Perhaps due to someone else using them, popularity, etc.

I'm just curious!

Rosie.

As we (nearly) have three girls, we've never had the chance to name a boy, we've had the name picked out since forever it seems!

Before we had Lexy, he was always going to be Liam Hayden. We thought Lexy was our last so we gave her the family name for her mn as we really wanted to use it. If Amelie had been a boy, she probably wouldn've been Liam James.

We were going to use Sydney instead of Alexia but a little boy we know was named Sydney a couple of weeks before she was born.

Names Scott has vetoed: Avery, Alivia, Piper, Sienna, there are many more but these stand out in my mind.

Names that I've vetoed: Elizabeth, John, Harmony, Zoe, Amy, the list goes on!

We tend to agree on boys names, if the girls were boys, it's likely we'd have:
Liam Hayden
Alfie Frank
Lewis James

Well, I don't have any children, but I have some names that I know I would not be able to use:

Isabella - I have always loved this name, but it is way too popular
Jacob - Also a name that I have always loved, but is very popular
Angelica - I wanted to use this after my grandmother Angela. But my cousin Joseph had a daughter last year and named her Angelina. So Angelica is way too close.
Brandon - I wouldn't use this just because I know too many, both children and adults

Here are a list of names that I absolutely LOVE, but my boyfriend turned down: (most of them broke my heart)

Aiden
Brooklyn-for boy or girl (he didn't like it)
Christian (he thinks it sounds like a girls name)
Cruz (I'm still trying to convince him of this for atleast a middle name)
Deacon (he just didn't like this one)
Dominic (he says he usually didn't like guys with this name)
Gabriel (he says it sounds too much like Gabrielle)
Julian / Jonah (he thinks it's too feminine)
Justice (he just doesn't like it)
Michael / Nicholas (too "boring")
Nathan (too many people he knows are named this)
Tyler (his little cousin's name)

I've taken Aiden, Deacon, and Tyler off of my list, but the rest are staying. I'm going to try my hardest to keep some of those on there.

Evy, I love Thienna, the name is just stunning!

My guilty pleasure name is Theola which I'm trying to persuade Scott to use for Amelie's mn.

Lilah and Becca I sympathise, there are so many names that I love that Scott can't stand but it goes both ways, I've shot down lots of his names! It's all about compromise, hopefully they'll be names that both you and your other halves love!

Rosie.

I understand Rosie, I have 3 girls and never got to use our boy names. The fn we chose each time was different, Callum, Campbell and Connor but the mn was always going to be Ryan McGregor.

Callum, Campbell and Connor are all very handsome! Mikayla, Hollie and Olivia are beautiful too though.

If I'd had the chance to use all of my favourite names I would have to have about 100 kids by this point!

Maybe I'll end up with lots of pets one day to feed my name obsession.

I absolutely love the name Lavender. I paired it with Bella and it became one of my favorite girl name combos. Lavender Bella is just gorgeous to me, but my mom hates it.

I have other girl names I could use, but I still really like this name.

I think it's because of the flow. LaVEnder BElla it's a little mouthy. Lavender Isabella would be a little nicer, IMO.
